Really curious what all this is building up to with 4 episodes still to go, especially after what just happened.

Pretty good episode. Not as good as last week's but some good character stuff, a twist and a pretty visually stunning sequence at the end.

This, but it was fun. I really liked the theory that the TVA agents used to be people, so I like that it was confirmed.

I'm going to call it now.

Most of this episode is 100% Sylvie enchanting Loki. The wording of him saying he's immune because he has a strong mind and her saying strong minds require this sort of thing is almost blatant about it.

On the other hand, Loki 100% did not break the TemPad. He breaks something he stored in a pocket dimension by getting thrown out of a train? And I'm like 60% sure he knows he's being enchanted. As Sylvie said, he was acting like an idiot this episode and he's not nearly that cavalier about his own life.

This entire episode was just them playing each other which is exactly what two Lokis would do to each other.

I did get the vibe that she was born looking like Tom Hiddleston but eventually decided to become a woman full-time. "Don't call me Loki" seemed very much like a trans person rejecting their dead name.

Thats what I first thought but then she hinted that she never knew Friga and that she wasnt a prince. Felt like she had a fairly different upbringing.

For sure, but I think she still started at the same point. If she became a variant when she was a child, her timeline would have been pruned. She'd have never really known Frigga and would never have been a prince(ss).

And what's the over-under on Mobius just...being Owen Wilson?

So is Sylvie from before the Time Keepers ended the multiverse war and created the sacred timeline?

Because it makes absolutely no sense she would have a different childhood unless the split occured when she was a child or before. Which again makes no sense because the split timeline is supposed to be erased immediately.

That makes sense, but she said the Asgardians let her know she was adopted early on. I doubt that was the reason things split, so it seems like things may possibly have been different for her.

I got that part - but I thought they only did that when there was a variance. So how did Lady Loki get to be a grown-ass woman?

We don't know that yet, but my impression is that she's basically been a fugitive. Hopping from apocalypse to apocalypse to stay off their radar.

So how were they both at the TVA as a male and female when powers don't work there? Sylvie is obviously not a transitioned Loki...

When the blue thing was brought up with the first episode, I read that Odin's spells are permanent, so he had made him look human permanently.

In which case, I probably answered my own question. Odin could have just changed her.

I think she's definitely the MCU's version of Enchantress, but I don't see her working for another Loki. Everything else aside, she and Loki's mannerisms are too similar. Even the name Sylvie is probably a reference to Silvertongue.

A Thor villain. Her main shtick is more or less what Sylvie is doing. She magically enslaves men by making them fall in love with her. Sylvie, being Loki, presumably does not share Enchantress' primary motivation which is fucking Thor.

This. Again, Marvel Studios takes liberties. They amalgamated Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo. Dont take the source material to seriously, but keep it in mind.

I thought that was Odin's magic. He did have access to some pretty strong stuff, perhaps enough to hold up under the Timekeeper's suppression field?

I like where the story is going with the TVA but that felt like filler.

I think half way through I prefer the first 2 shows

In all honesty, I have always thought baby Loki turned himself into an Asgardian.

I think it still holds true though. The TVA might inhibit new spells nut get rid of old ones.

Sylvie's obviously not actually Loki, and is only being made to believe she is to throw off the TVA or whoever.
And this wasn't filler, given there's a pretty huge revelation about the TVA's forces. Plus all the hints at Sylvie's story not adding up which will be important later. Also they're kinda trapped in an apocalypse that's about to kill them. Everything that happened here matters, which means it's not filler.

Isn't Richard E. Grant rumored to be playing Old Loki?

Wouldn't be surprised if he's basically creating a gang of Lokis to take down the TVA and Sylvie is one he "adopted".

I also think Lady Loki WILL be MCU's Enchantress. It wouldn't be the first time the MCU has combined two characters to make one. I know in the comics, Lady Loki is still a brunette, so making her a blonde has to be intentional.

Yeah, basically felt like a filler episode. Barely learned anything about Sylvie and it was really just the two of them roaming around a planet spouting directionless dialogue the entire time.

The revelation about the TVA was really the only thing of note.

It was nice seeing Loki use actual magic though, since the movies kinda made him never do that.

I wouldn't be so quick to call this a filler episode until we see how things play out.

Seemingly insignificant plot details can play a huge role later on, ESPECIALLY given that this is an MCU show.

This, there was a lot of character progression in this episode - just because it was front loading info doesnt mean its filler - its literally the same complaint people had about Wandavision before it kicked into high gear
