Wasn't the whole point of acceptance and tolerance to respect that not everyone is going to want to bang you and their reasoning doesn't matter?

There is nothing transphobic about not wanting a partner who has a penis or had a penis. Its really not a hard concept to understand, mental gymnastics are not needed.

HOnestly this , this is like the 3rd topic I seen on this and , this is getting to 500.
Why re people so got damn hell bent on telling people who they should want to be with. People have their own levels of being. And if a person level of being is that they don't want to be with someone who has or had a unit . Who in the fuck is anyone else to tell them that they are wrong.

Definitely a fair system for ruling over minorities and denying them basic human rights. For instance, "majority rules" has been used to justify slavery, genocide, opposing integration in public schools, and even having a pizza party over an ice cream social it was the middle of summer and the preps knew the budget was $40, how many pizzas could they really get delivered for a class of 35 ffs.

Which is to say, the majority is rarely in the right until decades or even centuries later. And even then, they can still be wrong about some things.

Society is inherently transphobic and not set up to accommodate our existence. Of course someone who has no skin on the line would think that a minority seeking equitable conditions is out of their mind, even when it doesn't come at any expense to the majority.

Which is to say, I've yet to hear anyone opposed to trans people in this topic saying a thing about supporting them in any capacity. Just "I support them" with no examples. I have a few of tagged as Republicans, even.

It was an opinion poll. Sexuality and orientation are specific to an individual and vary wildly from person to person. You cannot force anybody to change their perspective on sex or attraction. They are allowed, they are justified, and they are 100% in the right to choose their partners based on any number of factors.

You can call it any kind of pejorative term you wish--racist, sexist, X-phobic, Y-phobic, or Z-phobic, but at the end of the day, if you're trying to shame somebody for who they are (or aren't) attracted to...you're the problem. You're the instigator.

Bigotry runs a wide range. Slavery and genocide are the end points, while stuff like "old lady glaring at black teens shopping" is generally more acceptable if she doesn't raise a fuss.

Don't you think that's a bit over the top?

As someone who's clearly never been discriminated against, either personally or systemically, I'd advise you shut the hell up.

It's no different than a white guy who refuses to date any black woman or woman he believes to be part black, since people have brought up how they'd "just know" who is trans.

Funny thing about that, it's acting based on an assumed universal set of traits about a group, and using it to determine you don't find them acceptable to date.

You can do that. Especially if you're an American, being bullheaded and wrong in the face of basic facts is basically your number one right.

But is it wrong? Yes. Very much so. And other people also have a right to point this out.

If you don't like it you have two choices: double down as you have been, showing that yeah, the preference is something you've consciously created... Or you could spend time self reflecting, analysing why you've picked up these views, dismantling them, and when you arrive on the other end you'd be informed and speak up in defense of minorities like a decent person.

But that's just it, being secure in your insecurities and how your actions hurt others is just so comfortable and doesn't require changing a thing.

- ignoring science for feelings by incorrectly labeling cis and trans to be the same

- calling or implying anyone not open to the idea of having sex with a transgendered is a bigot/hates them

- a couple users incorrectly proclaiming the sex of an individual was wrongfully assigned. Feelings overriding science of the sex you were born as.
