That's... that's just how her face looks, maaaaaan.

But she also gets eye crusties a lot and she hates whenI clean them off. The other stuff (like the spots on her nose and whatever's going on with her lip) is a bit of a mystery. I got her about eight months ago after she'd been found in someone's backyard with a respiratory infection and severely damaged paw pads. She was already fixed, the vet estimated she's at least ten years old, and she's (capable of being) friendly. So there's no telling what her story was before she was found. My theory is housecat that got out or was abandoned, but she could also be a tough old street cat.

Fair enough. Shes adorable.

I'm gonna throwback - here is Kotiya, the first cat I really got to know.. she turned up at my parents backyard and my mother (who had opposed any pets for decades) started feeding her!!!



That was back in 2014, she hung around till 2018 ...

One of my cats is sick and apparently theres a high chance shell die.

Ive had this cat since she and her brother were newborn infants. Like, their mom disappeared and I took them in and bottle fed them myself.

Her brother died a year ago and now I might be losing her as well. I dont even know how Ill handle that.

Shes 6. They told me that she was anemic, but they didnt tell me how it happened. It was just a sudden change.

right now, she has so much energy. She jumps on top of my bookshelf, she meows a lot, shes eating and drinking food. Like, she seems so much better than when she first got sick.

yet they are telling me shes might die? I honestly refuse to believe that.

Might be worth it to visit another vet to do full examinations. If needed, refer to a specialist.

I'm going away to a cottage this week and this will be the first time I'll be away from Binston since getting him for more than one overnight - we will be away for 4 nights.
I don't really have anyone in the same city who can come check on him - and he probably doesn't even need checking on, but, I just worry - so I brought him to my girlfriends apartment and her brother is going to come check on him (she lives about 40 mins away so him coming to my place would be too much to ask)
Anyway, I brought him over tonight and will sleep here so he's acquainted and he recognized the scents so he's been doing good and is really excited - so excited with all these scents that he's been phleming where he opens his mouth to "extra smell" and he looks hilarious:

Awww hope you guys have fun! Will your girlfriend's brother clean Binst's litter box? I had to leave my two for 48 hours recently and that was my biggest worry (luckily they did fine).

Also his expression perfectly captures the existential angst in all of us!

Aster is serious about his Armin van Buren

I don't know if this technically counts, since they're not official pets. Though I doubt many of you would mind an image of innocence.

They're feral because the feral mother decided to bring them over to us a month ago, however they've grown to trust me enough. Probably gonna keep the one on the far right officially, because he's far too good of a cat. Can't say I've had too many feral cats lick my hand/arm in affection and actually paw at me to hold them. The others will be fixed/trimmed/returned. They're about 10 weeks old in this image.


Oh yeah, I do have my own cat that's 19+ so I'm sure she'll be thrilled to have company...

I went through some more recent ones to find one that'll showcase the beast.



Yes, that 3.5~ inch thing is her entire tail, it sticks close to her thigh so it looks like she lacks one. Those guides/tips on how to read a cat's mood based on their tail don't really work. Instead it just wags slightly at various speeds. Slow = annoyed, fast = mad/really excited. It's both adorable and pitiful when she tries to curl it around your leg, because she can't.

She too was a feral kitten.

Oo rivel has a short, heavy tail and she can pound the table/floor/sofa quite loudly when she's annoyed. Your cat cat is cute

Not sure. We did at one point take in a cat that was obviously completely abandoned by her previous owners (or she decided to abandon them). Furrball kept doing hit and runs for a while by smacking with a paw, before settling on just glaring. Yeah, that's her name... she had much longer fur when younger and decided to troll me, but she still has fairly soft/dense fur. I mean I just held her last night for 2 minutes and basically had a kitten's worth of fur on my clothes.

This time I suspect she'll mostly just hiss and be offended at an intruder. They're very much aware of each other through the door and have seen each other. She seems to be jealous and claiming my lap or blocking the door more.

You can't see it in that picture, but he's also got a white spot on his sternum. I especially worry for him, because I know for a fact we have superstitious folks around here that kill black cats, or did at least.

No thumping from Furrball's tail, too short. She's also actually fairly compact/petite.

Slight update on the feral kittens outside. I feel like a total and utter monster having collected 2 of them this morning. The small one on the far left and the big fluffy one on the top center. I went for the one on the bottom center initially, but she's so flighty she kicked off my arm and left scratches in my wrist. I'll have to catch her another time.
They'll be back tomorrow, missing the tip of their ear and ability to have kittens.

We chose this route, because no one would adopt em. We either had to take them to a shelter to be put down, let 3 female cats explode into even more kittens, or let them exist in the area hunting vermin as pseudo-pets.

Extra note, the black kitten's ear won't be trimmed, as we'll take a more standard route.

I fully expect a lot of hissing and protestant behavior. Only thing I'm not looking forward to is teaching another minion what isn't a scratch post and device cables are not toys. Plus this one has stealth technology.
