It's similar to pie, but there's no bottom crust and the pastry is lighter and thicker because it's got some leavening in it. --- This is my signature. Every night after that, though, I thought it was pretty much perfect, so I guess the flavours blended better as it sat in the fridge. I also used frozen mango instead of fresh (I made it specifically because we had a surplus of frozen mango), but I didn't adjust the amount of water in the filling to compensate for how much water came out of the fruit, so it was a bit runnier than I think might have been ideal.
