I'm ready for a new Battlefield, it's been long enough. Plus the new CoD is going back to ww2 which is just an awful decision. So I look forward to Battlefield being my primary fps.

Cant stand future/near future shooters. We had almost a decade of those games coming out one after another between CoD, BF, and then other one off games from other devs. I wish EA wouldve stuck with older eras for a bit longer. A Bad Company game set in the 60s or 70s wouldve been dope.

Well, next CoD is WW2 again and also rumors suggest the development is a bit of a shitshow, so if I want a new shooter this seems like the only real option.

They get way more money from cosmetics and the like than actual copies sold. As long as they get big day one numbers, the investors are happy and then EA just needs to sit back and let the microtransaction cash roll in. Getting the game in as many peoples' hands as soon as possible is a smart move. And I don't know what kind of deal EA has worked out with Microsoft but I'm sure they get a little somethign on the side for launching on Game Pass.

Anyway, I'm excited. I defintely have some issues with the reveal but DICE always does solid work and the worst Battlefield is always still the best shooter on the market. I figure it will launch on Game Pass which has me more interested. I can play as much Battlefield as I want without giving EA a single red fucking penny.

For the most part, I like Battlefield and I haven't played a BF game since 4/Hardline. Plus the trailer was pretty cool and got me somewhat interested.

However, I'm not getting it on last-gen (learned my lesson from BF4 and Hardline) and I don't have any plans to get a PS5 or a Series X any time soon. And if I did, I'm not paying $70 for a new game. Basically, I'll be waiting long after its release before I get to play it.

My personal issue with it was that the way they chose to approach the war chronologically was asinine. The game launched without the Americans or the Soviets and they made battles up wholesale. By the time they finally added Americans a year later, the game was already pretty much irrelevant, and they never did add the Eastern Front.

There were also some moronic balance changes regarding weapon damage that were made, then reverted, then made again, then reverted again... It was a clusterfuck.

After the news on EA's source codes being hacked, the codes consisting of the frostbite engine. Im definitely going to wait and see how the game turns out because there could be a ton of cheats and hacks for the game.

And even if their source code didnt get hacked, BF5 on pc is riddled with cheaters. So i'll be waiting maybe a month or 2 and then checking out how the cheating problem is before buying.
