While there were no circumstances where our act was going to win, we could've sent the best act ever and we'd still probably have got the same result.

I am getting sick and tired of people saying it was all political and all to do with Brexit etc.

It has nothing to do with that.

Do you honestly think that Mr & Mrs Magnasson sitting up there in their house in Iceland give a fuck at what Britain does? No they dont. Neither does Norway, Switzerland and several other countries.

The problem is all to do with the BBC. They treat the ESC as a joke. They know that because they are automatically through to the final as a member of the big 5 they can send any old crap and they are through to the final.

I mean think about it. Does Germany have any political enemies? No they don't. They too like the BBC treat the contest as a joke and know that they are automatically through to the final as a member of the big 5.

How many times over the years have we seen the big 5 at the bottom of the pile? Many many times because they know they do not have to try and are through to the final.

That ruling about the big 5 automatically qualifying for the final needs to go.

Britain has friends in Ireland, Australia and Malta and did they give us points? Nope because they could see it was a shit song.

I don't think anybody disputes that. They're just saying the political situation doesn't help.

People often refer to us having been at the bottom of the pile for ages, as if it refutes the idea that there might be political components too. We've been at the bottom of the pile since took part in a conflict that the rest of Europe condemned and didn't approve of.

Yes, we send shit artists to sing shit songs. But it's naive to claim that's the only factor at play.

Im a big Eurovision fan and not British. You did well in 2009 (5th place) and in 2011 (11th place in total but 5th in the televote). What did you do those 2 years?

You sent a powerful ballad written by Andrew Lloyd Webber in 2009 and the famous boyband Blue which has many fans across Europe in 2011.

I often see Britons says politics play a big part but it is mainly the quality of your songs in the end. Milquetoast blah-hah or joke entries we outside the UK dont get.

The only member of the Big 5 which continiously do well is Italy and they always send artists who are huge in Italy and who sing a high quality song. The other 4 usually dont put in the work. France did this year and was rewarded with 2nd place. Germany did in 2010 and 2018 and came 1st respectively 4th.

Russia keeps pissing off everyone in Europe every year yet they usually do well at Eurovision since they keep sending high quality acts.
