my mom is getting old and has a bad hip. She can lean against the cart in the store. If she has to walk to the cart thing and back it would be a lot harder for her.

When i take her to the store i just do it for her and when she's by herself usually someone helps her but i can see how it might be harder for some people

I don't narc on people, but I do think people who leave it in parking spaces are dumpy bitches.

This. When I worked at Foodland, it was simply one of the duties that everyone did before they took their break. Someone would announce on the intercom "_____, baskets, wagons, code B". So that person would take the baskets by the registers and put them back at the front of the store, then go and gather all the carts, then take their break.

Like fuck they're gonna hire a designated cart boy lol

Walmart is close. But they are also for helping take out bigger items like TVs. They completely prefer bringing carts in from the corrals as it isn't a pain in the ass.

Collecting stray carts sucks. And it isn't supposed to be their job actually. That job is on the customer.

I worked at Walmart and collecting carts was the best part of the job but ok. People act like it's such a burden for some poor guy with other duties... no.

Its a relief to get the fuck outside away from managers and customers. True Story.

Have they tried this at Target? AP has cameras on the parking lot and theyd immediately spot someone harassing guests and ask them to leave.

The fact that it can roll away and hit an elderly person or a child is the problem. Hell, if the wind is strong enough it could do bodily harm to anyone. They can move really quickly and with a lot of force.

Dude that's an insane scenario to be claiming as the problem. Unless there's borderline hurricane winds that elderly people can't even walk in the cart ain't going to do any harm.

Like yeah if a tornado throws a cart at ya thats gonna hurt. Also its a fucking tornado and carts would be the least of your problems.

I have trouble believing anyone enjoys hunting for stray carts left in the middle of a parking lot during a super packed period where there are no spare carts for the customers.

The not dealing with people part sure, I get that.

Also all those times the weather is absolutely shitty, I doubt many people enjoy walking outside in 100+ degree weather or heavy rain having to find spare carts.

This. My job in highschool was a cashier at a kmart, but almost every day they pulled me off to go cart hunting, it fucking sucked, especially when it snowed and people just jammed them into snowbanks/put them in shitty hard to get locations. It's crazy how often they would lift them up onto a raised surface

I had a job working at target where the entire job and pay was based upon my ability to leave carts in the farthest space geometrically - sometimes they paid double if you were able to stack one cart on top of the other cart

Nah I was just watching a video on reddit yesterday where a cart went zooming across the lot and rammed into this ladys car. It would have definitely hurt someone if it had hit a person. It was a normal day, just very windy.
