Shame the shit out of them until they stop pushing for anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. They can be Christian and close on Sunday all they want, but to actively tell a subset of people they dont deserve rights isnt right, no matter who it is.

Imagine if like McD said they would donate a shit ton of money into bills that take away guns from conservatives (or just from Americans in general). Im sure the people supporting CFA would be singing a different tune and wouldnt just be saying hur dur just dont eat there

I'm just saying, but Chick Fil A gets a lot of flak for where they donate their money yet most fast food places treat their workers like garbage and do a rainbow colored logo for June and nobody cares.

Yeah I tried it one time a few years ago to see what all the hype was about, but theres not one very near me so I wouldnt be going there much even if I wanted to.

It sucks that they are getting these awful laws passed, it sucks that were at a place as a nation that such laws even have a chance of being passed. And it sucks that for as many people who will boycott CFA over this, there are others who will be more motivated to spend their money there we saw some of them earlier in this topic.

So you want to keep pressuring them by shaming them online. I'm skeptical because they don't see what they're doing a violation of human rights, and they have a steady stream of customers who think along the same lines (or as evidenced by this topic, don't care).

They're only gonna change if they start losing money. That's basically my point. Maybe spreading awareness online will accomplish that.

And as for your example, I really have no idea what the right would do. Probably complain online and boycott, which is what the left is doing with CFA.

They are also making it harder to transition. Now no one believes that surgery should be done to a minor, that should wait for adulthood but puberty blockers and hormone theropy that is safe and reversable for a vast majority of people (its risk of severe side effects is no worse then the normal meds many kids take) and should not be made unavailable to people who may want to transition yet some states also try to ban that. Countries have banned that.

Well, our tax dollars are doing things morally worse than suppressing transgender rights (were in agreement that suppressing transgender rights is morally wrong, I feel obligated to point out). It stands to reason that if were morally obligated to protest the lesser of the two evils, were morally obligated to protest the greater of two evils. Im not saying you need to dodge your taxes, but if youre not out actively protesting, its less motivated by conscience and more by convenience. Its much easier to get a chicken sandwich somewhere else and go about your life than it is to take time away from your own brief existence to fight for a cause larger than your own immediate interests. Snooty, self proclaimed leftists need to stop sniffing their own assholes about their moral courage in avoiding the evil chicken sandwich and do something useful.

If your argument is that transgender rights are morally equivalent to, as you might say, destroying lives of innocent civilians abroad via drone strikes and economic sanctions, maintaining a nuclear weapons arsenal, or wanton climate destruction, well, I guess thats where we differ. The latter two are existential threats to the species, so I dont see how you could argue any sort of moral equivalence, but Id be happy to see you give it a whirl. Im shocked that youd reduce it to mere disagreement with a politician any more than youd call the struggle for gender and sexual equality a disagreement.

For the record, this is a pointless discussion for me personally because chick fil as food quality should be enough to prevent people from eating there. Its not especially good. The double drive through shit with people walking around taking your order or whatever theyre doing? Ridiculous. Absolutely uncalled for.
