they don't use human instruments... you don't check the temperature of lava with a skin flute. They use METAL and PLASTIC instruments

How can you be pessimistic about induction? Sure, the burners only work on a relatively limited number of pots/pans, but once you get past that hurdle, they heat up delightfully quickly, are beautifully stable and even in their heat, and they're a breeze to clean because the burner itself never heats up enough to burn stuff onto it.

scientists never believe they're actually at the truth, they just try to reach as close as they can to it to the extent of human capabilities within acceptable margins of error

it's fine to doubt consciousness or reality, but that doesn't have anything to do with figuring out how temperature works or how far away a star probably is. scientists are glad to be proven wrong, it's not a pissing contest but rather a whole process of learning
