If we're not allowed to disagree on details, we just blindly follow some leader's blanket policies, good and bad? I'm partway through the Cryptomania video and I'm probably with him, and the Losing to China one....I don't like the framing. OK points, but framing anything between the USA and China as a competition of winning vs. losing is very pointless in my eyes. I like discussing things and I indicated why I don't like Bill Maher. Do you agree with those assessments at all? I know you said "but", but what do you think of what I said? I do my best to admit when I'm wrong on details in discussions, but I rarely encounter that from people I'm trying to discuss things with. His take on PoW mining wasn't wrong, it pretty much is a bunch of computers playing pick a number. I know I can be a bit of an evangelist with it at times, but it's really just another tool. He is totally incorrect that various projects don't provide assets or services. It isn't something that is going to magically fix all the financial issues we have. In fact financial services is but one use case. Without hype or frills, Blockchain technology is an alternative to centralized servers and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure. It has yet to reach true viability as a competitor due to scaling issues, but solutions to those issues are on the horizon (with bugs and delays I'm sure). I think it's always funny how people say the digital asset isn't "real" though. Like is an email not real too? or that digital game you bought? A boomer take with all the usual talking points. It's not real, DOGE is a joke so they are all a joke. His take on PoW mining wasn't wrong, it pretty much is a bunch of computers playing pick a number. I know I can be a bit of an evangelist with it at times, but it's really just another tool. He is totally incorrect that various projects don't provide assets or services. It isn't something that is going to magically fix all the financial issues we have. In fact financial services is but one use case. Without hype or frills, Blockchain technology is an alternative to centralized servers and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure. It has yet to reach true viability as a competitor due to scaling issues, but solutions to those issues are on the horizon (with bugs and delays I'm sure). I think it's always funny how people say the digital asset isn't "real" though. Like is an email not real too? or that digital game you bought?
