For example: South Park

South Park has consistantly done episodes that poke fun at issues and cultural trends that plague the the world today. Like China, Twitter, Cancel Culture, etc.

And another one is George Carlin. A famed comedy and phisophical legend that would have fucking field day with todays political climate, especially with its woke and cancel culture.

Satire is too easy to misinterpret. One of the biggest South Park fans I knew got a swastika tattoo on his foot a few years before murdering his girlfriend and blowing his brains out.

Satire provides more argument ammo and entertainment for intelligent people, but it's rarely going to actually change someone's mind or elucidate insight if the viewer/listener disagrees to begin with.

It's funny, I see people trying to position themselves as the 'next George Carlin', and things like that. Too bad Lee Camp, you're not funny!

Also, George Carlin died in 2008 and had plenty to say up until he did. It's hilarious that people pretend like he died in the 90s and would've 'lampooned woke culture today'. Perhaps, but I think he would've had a lot stronger words for other hypocritical factions of the American governmental system.

Carlin always spoke out against the fat cats and those that really control this country. Woke anything would be so far down on his list of shit that pisses him off.

Especially what some consider woke stuff like oh look this movie has a primarily female cast, or oh look this movie shows a woman that can get shit done that is woke.

This summarizes the issue as clearly as anything I could say. Satire only informs or enlightens people that already agree with it (in which case it often isn't all that informative or enlightening). Those that don't agree dismiss it as a joke, instead of anything to learn from.

Well I mean getting anyone to change their mind about anything is a huge ordeal, a great example is the flat earthers they think that NASA and the government want to convince everyone the world is round based on some grand conspiracy.

They can't tell you the point of this great grand conspiracy, but they know it's real. I'm sure even in 20 years from now we will still have a die hard group that think that Biden stole the election from Trump, even though throughout those entire 20 years no new evidence that proves this will be found.

Makes me worry for America.

People just want to be wrong about whatever it is theyre wrong about. Ive used examples from film that are factual and easily researchable, and people will call it out as fiction because its from a movie.

Its funny how movies can make people think about a situation from a different standpoint, but an opinion on the internet will just make the reader want to argue.
