I was in a new place 10 days later, and I even had to find a 3 bedroom so my kids could stay. You'll be fine. You'll probably just lose your deposit from the other place and have some extra moving costs. So it shouldn't be anywhere close to half your savings now that I think about it. If you have to buy some stuff and furniture, as I did, the whole thing might set you back $3k. Just make a plan and follow it.
