AT&T and Discovery are creating a new company. We'll find out the name soon.

Most media assets from AT&T WarnerMedia will go there. The only major change here is that Discovery's CEO will head the new company and not WarnerMedia's. So we'll probably see changes there.

But HBO should not change, and expect Discovery+ to get integrated into that, or as a cheaper add-on like Hulu and ESPN with Disney+.

It was already revealed a few days ago that RT was up for sale. Probably got lumped in. Also kind of an animation/gaming/stuff thing so could have gone either way. Though I'm suspecting they saw this as a way to drop em on someone else.

Shit like this shouldn't be allowed, i don't care about DC crap but eventually there's going to be a monopoly on everything and anything.

Even Disney doesn't own that much, they own Marvel, Star Wars and Fox but that's it.

Fox was one of the big 5 media companies. Disney buying them made bigger than all the rest. Disney is just as guilty.

The topic title is underselling the scope of the transaction.

Discovery is buying (well paying to merge with) all of WarnerMedia. DC stuff will stay on HBO Max because HBO Max is part of the merger.

AT&T is selling HBO too. They're selling all of WarnerMedia to Discovery.

The thing about Disney is that you don't have to subscribe to a streaming service just to watch new episodes of shows like Discovery+ is doing.

That's why i have a problem with this, discovery+ is being shady already and them merging with DC,etc will probably make it worse.
