I'm also not sure how I was supposed to make it to level 30 in one playthrough in 1 like they said.

I did quite literally EVERYTHING possible, and I was 180,000 XP away from 30 by the end.

Same, down to roughly the same XP needed.

Still translated to LV5 in ME2 so that's all that matters.

Did they lower ME1s max level to 30? It was originally 60 and it was impossible to get there in one playthrough, so if they just halved everything I guess you cant reach 30 either? Have yet to play the remaster myself but I always hated how it took at least 2 playthroughs to get the max carryover bonus.

There's a new leveling system that's more in line with ME2 where you level up less but get more skill points per level and it ends up the same amount of skill points as the classic leveling system. And you can still choose the classic leveling system if you want, which has the LV50 cap that wasn't unlocked until NG+ removed IIRC. From what I understand you're supposed to be able to hit LV60 in one run on classic leveling now but that doesn't seem to apply to hitting the cap in the new leveling system.

They also made it to where you get the same exp from killing enemies in the Mako as you do on foot so no more having to hop out to finish things off to maximize gains.

FUCK ME the basement shutters in Garrus's recruitment mission were brutal.

I had to have died 12 times on the right one, in the garage.

It's usually rough, but this was AWFUL.

Next on the agenda is Kasumi's quest so I can get a Locust, but that is going to be terrible.

I'm using the Geth Plasma Shotgun for the first time, it's a delight.

Kasumi's mission was always at that weird crossroads of being a little too difficult to do right out of the gate, but also being the most beneficial when you do, since the Locust is just that good.

The quest order seems unchanged.

I've got Mordin and Garrus, still have Grunt and Jack to pick up, and of course Kasumi/Zaeed are whenever.

The only issue I have with it is the placement of Heavy Pistol Damage upgrades, there's only one available before Horizon. That means no AP Heavy Pistol for a while, and I need some better armor damage on Insanity.

Ah I see. I heard that the reason you got a second set of dossiers after horizon is because they couldn't fit all of them on to one disk, so I was hoping they had changed that.

The issue there would be having no recorded lines for the later characters in earlier missions.

Like Legion has them because he was supposed to show up earlier, but Tali wouldn't have anything on Horizon.

No deaths, but I've been going VERY slow as well.

The Black Hole Gun does some work on the bunches, not quite as helpful if I fire it after the dudes spread out off the elevator.

Fortunately money is irrelevant, what with my massive cash boost from 1.

MAKE DAMN SURE you end 1 with a full wallet, your bonus is percentage based.

Looked like it, I never noticed the tubes before.

The last Krogan on my second attempt got stuck behind one, made my life much easier.

First attempt failed because the Ymir slipped some bullets through my cover, and I REALLY can't take a hit very well right now.

Did Jacob's mission for the Heavy Pistol upgrade, then ran by Tuchanka and cleaned out the shops.

I think I bought everything in the game and I still have a cool hundred thousand.

Also got up to 3/5 in damage for all weapons as well as both unique upgrades.

Fucking finally.

One VERY useful thing I have figured out:

If you juke back and forth while in cover, or move a little left and right at least, Harbinger's bigass fireball will fuck up in its tracking and miss you completely.

It's honestly saved my life a couple of times in the last ten minutes alone.

Kasumi is my favorite weapon against Harbinger. Her Flashbang disables tech and biotic powers and everything he does besides shooting is biotics. Shuts him down fast.

Shepard's version of it does it too but it's inconsistent and you actually have to aim the throw unlike hers that's just instant.

Now that I think of it, this game has a few more noteable voice actors with smaller parts. Aria is voiced by Carrie-Anne Moss (Trinity from The Matrix) and her advisor Patriarch is voiced by Jim Cummings (Winnie the Pooh).
