Because I live in a red area, so a good portion of people not wearing masks are also not vaccinated. Essentially the same reason I wear a seatbelt when I drive even though I'm a good driver, other people are stupid.

I don't have an issue with people continuing to wear masks. It will take time for people to start feeling more comfortable regarding "going back to normal".

I am curious though, Squall28 posted...
Because it's not 100% protection, especially against variants.


Is the expectation 100% protection against all strains? Or do you just mean you want there to be more vaccinated people?

because i live in nyc and will be shunned if i do not wear a mask on the sidewalk even though ive been fully vaxxed for over a month now and so is almost everyone else i know

Nah it won't be 100% but I want there to be less floating around before I feel good about it.
