California gubernatorial hopeful Caitlyn Jenner voiced her opposition to transgender girls competing in female sports on Saturday, saying "it just isn't fair." Republican lawmakers in state legislatures across the country have pushed through, or are working to pass, bills that ban transgender girls and women from competing in sports with other women. Jenner, a former Olympic athlete and prominent transgender celebrity, is running as a Republican to unseat California's Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom in an expected recall election later this year. On Saturday, she spoke briefly to TMZ and shared her views about the GOP-backed measures targeting transgender athletes. "This is a question of fairness," Jenner said outside her vehicle in Malibu. "That's why I oppose biological boys who are trans competing in girls sports in school. It just isn't fair. And we have to protect girl sports in our schools," she said.

I mean...I hate to say it, but I agree. Males, biologically, have an advantage, no? I always think of that Dave Chappelle special where he brings up LeBron. If LeBron decided he was a female, and competed in the WNBA, he'd absolutely dominate. It wouldn't really be fair.

Transitioning doesn't undo the years of growth you had as a male, no matter how many hormones you take. Someone who was an elite male athlete will dominate any women's sport. That's not really debatable.

But in the real world instead of the hypothetical world youre making up based on a comedy routine, the NCAA and Olympics allow trans women to compete as women and we havent seen either the Olympics or college sports overtaken by trans athletes.

Hypotheticals make the world go round, and allow us to think about things that could or couldn't happen, and think critically about them.

And, statistically, I doubt the number of transgender athletes is even high enough to allow a proper and fair analysis of such a thing to happen. But if you are denying that there is an inherent advantage in being male and transitioning to female, you are just off your rocker, bro.

I mean they both dominated in their league as is, of course they would dominate in any league they joined. LeBron wouldn't be able to just say "I'm a woman now" and be able to compete in the WNBA. This is what transphobes don't like people to know about.

The NCAA has had guidelines for trans athletes for a decade, and the olympics have for 2. If just being a male was actually that big of an advantage, we'd have trans women breaking all the world records, but there are like 3 world records held by trans women right now. But because there isn't we need to get upset at a trans woman breaking a world record, or coming 6th at the high school track meet.

The problem with people like Caitlin Jenner here is that this isn't an argument anyone is actually making. Nobody is saying that Kobe Bryant should be able to compete in the women's division just because he says he's female. Its more strawman bull**** while hoping that nobody actually bothers looking the topic up. And it works, since apparently nobody looks it up.

Firstly, I sincerely doubt that having a transman would really have that much impact on a team sport. Secondly, I really don't think it's that big of an advantage in solo sports. It's not like they're part mermaid/man in swimming competitions. I think we are allowing too much bigotry in the conversation.

This is probably something Jenner can speak on from personal experience considering she is a former athlete. When she was a man, she had the advantage of natural testosterone, an effect which can improve endurance levels.
