Do you?

Recently, I rediscovered that I can keep pretty focused at work with Fantasia 2000 (and the original Fantasia, to a lesser extent) playing in the background. Just instrumental music is usually not stimulating enough for me (so I tend to find another distraction, which...would distract me), but songs with vocals are too distracting.

Depends what you mean by listen. If you mean we pop some music on one of the computers on in the back while we run around with our heads cut off. Then yes.

If you mean actively listen, then absolutely not.

Only if there's an annoying noise in the background that's worse to listen to. But either way my ability to concentrate takes a hit.

Only instrumental music. Music with lyrics is usually too distracting for me, as my work takes a lot of concentration.

Music actively makes more engaged and productive. Lyrics don't make an impact negatively - but I'm more amped up by lyric songs I love so they are often even better than instrumental music.

I can listen to podcasts and some youtube videos and stuff too at times depending on what it is but I need to be careful because if it requires too much thinking to process what I'm listening too it can slow me down. Music is a lot safer.

I usually listen to podcasts and audiobooks, but I'm driving all day, so it's easy to do both.

Instrumental listener here. Film scores, anime or videogame OSTs are my picks. Been listening to a lot of Ace Attorney and House in Fata Morgana recently.

Yes I couldn't imagine working without it. I work from home though so obviously it's a lot easier.

Sometimes it's music, usually it's YouTube videos. All of it is chatter meant to distract me from falling into my own thoughts.

Maybe I don't understand the question, but I'll take a stab at it.
  1. Lyrics are distracting when I'm composing emails or working with spreadsheets
  2. Ace Attorney is mostly upbeat and fun
  3. House in Fata Morgana is dark and spooky with occasional nostalgic or sentimental tunes in there
  4. Film scores/anime or VG OSTs elevate my experience! The soundtracks make it feel more important than menial tasks, like filing papers or organizing folders, without music.

I think it's a joke because you have two prominent playthrough topics for those series right now.
