I was thinking more about how he was portrayed in the later seasons/series as a whole moreso than the ending. Like, I thought he was easily the most interesting main character in the last half of the show. And while I didnt like his ending, I at least understand it and I think they actually did a decent job of showing why he made that choice and made him sympathetic. Which makes his ending better than Jons. Or Daenerys. Or Bran. Or Sansa. Or Arya. Or Tyrion. Or Varys. I think Season 6 fooled a lot of people into thinking it was back on track at the time, but really it just had some great climactic book moments from Winds we haven't seen yet, the rest was still awful. Still it is quite impressive that they screwed up the last season so badly that even the most casual fans turned diehard against the show. Its one continuous thing that doesnt end till the finale poisons it all the way down. I got so obsessed into GoT when I watched it, knew all the houses, got the first book hardcover, knew expanded stuff, spent hours reading speculation.. it was so good!
