Because some people use abbreviations without even telling people what they mean, and when I read a post with an abbreviation that I havent seen before, I'm just reading with confusion as to what they're talking about.

My pet peeve is when an abbreviation is used, then typed out in full to clarify the abbreviation, then the abbreviation is never used again in the piece. An example:
"I'm currently wfh (work from home) and it has its ups and downs. I appreciate the luxury of lax dress code and snacks anytime but the bosses are monitoring activity more closely than at the office, adding more stress and workload." What does the abbreviation accomplish here? If the abbreviation isn't recurring then it and its meaning aren't needed, just write the meaning. --- My friends call me Vee.
