Can't really tell if it's edited because it just explodes. His leg movement and surrounding movements look real.
I'm always wary of any time someone tries to "show how solid this thing is" Can't tell if there was some fracture that was supported when he jumps on it. He actually jumps on it with his right foot just about where it breaks.

That's probably part of the trick. To make a small fracture while jumping on it and then take the rest off with his hand later. It would still have to be a pretty strong fucking punch though.

But there's a lot of small details in the video that make it look not edited to me. The movement of the chickens in the background all seem extremely consistent. Yes it's possible to edit in/out the chickens as well but seeing as even professionals fuck up basic shit in huge productions (starbucks in GoT, jeans guy in Star Wars, entire movie camera in reflection in The Matrix, etc) it would seem extremely unlikely that there wouldn't be something obvious if this video was edited.

If you pause the video and use the arrow keys, you can advance by frame and you can literally see that there are missing frames from startup to contact.

I'll never get people who have this mystic belief of martial arts. It's awesome in fiction but when people take that to reality is when it starts to be weird. The one-inch punch is just punching with no distance. It's not some super move or train in the jungle for 100 years or one secret guy passed it down and it's wild. You will always have more power with a 2 inch punch than a 1 inch punch, and more with 3 inch, etc. Just physics.

I don't think anyone is saying he has mystical powers. We're just trying to determine whether the video includes a cut or not and I don't think it does.

The biggest clue as to how he did it comes in the stomp. It's supported on both ends when he jumps on it but when he punches it, the support is only on one side.

Essentially the most likely scenario here is that the corner of the stone block behind it drove into the brick creating a crack as he punched it and at that point it's just breaking off a brittle piece. It would still require a considerable level of strength.

It's kind of like breaking open a walnut. I can slam it in my hands and nothing happens. Slam it into a stone surface instead with the same force and it cracks right open.

But it's not like there's the one-inch punch. It's a punch that takes up an inch. Anybody that throws a punch has a 1 inch punch too, and their 1 inch punch has pretty much the same fraction of strength that their full punch would have, whether it's a noob or a pro.

Go frame by frame. Even if you're convinced that his punch can skip frames, there's no way his stance should skip frames, and it does.

It's literally just the name of the technique like the triple axle or the full nelson or the downward dog.

There's nothing supernatural about ice skating, wrestling, or yoga but we still give specific techniques specific names. The one inch punch just happens to be named after what it is. Also I'm sure if you bust out a ruler and measured it, he probably wasn't exactly one inch away in act case.

Theres a trick and some editing. Frames are missing and you dont even have to slow it down to see that.

That small cement block doesnt look heavy enough to support the impact of the punch to the top half of the board that thick without realistically falling off too.

Nah. 100% of the force applied is on the part that broke off which isn't in contact with the smaller block. The block itself also looks really heavy and it doesn't have to be so heavy to resist momentum based on mass alone. Just a large enough static friction will do it.

The trick is that the blocks are set up in such a way to dig in and crack the stone rod so that it breaks off when hit. It's not a coincidence that the part remaining is almost exactly the same height as the blocks behind it.

it's a combination of speed up and leverage with a slanted upwards punch/push which is probably why he has a bandaid on his 4th finger... also, in the second video with the girl she also wobbles quite quickly during the speed up(in case people don't just wanna focus on chickens xd)
