is it a human-sized instant pot or have i been shrunk by magickal means. if it's a giant instant pot, then i think it would be a lot slower and more painful since i cant imagine it would heat up as quickly

You ever seen kick ass? I imagine a slower version of that potentially. Maybe some body melting

The heat would hopefully kill you before the pressure really started to build. If not then not only would you be exposed to all the heat but it would literally start crushing and pushing its way inside of you from all directions including your brand new burn wounds.

Really though I think youd lose consciousness from the pain and breathing in the hot air before that point though.

Like being in a heated pressurized vessel. Like standing on the sun.

There's this short story by Alissa Nutting called Dinner (first one in her short story collection) that centers on a group of people stuffed with herbs being boiled for what is assumed to be consumption. It's not an instant pot, but this story is closest representation I can imagine, so maybe give it a read. It's not long.

Well first off a pressure cooker works by containing the steam from boiling water, which increases the max temp the water can reach. In general they take 10-15 minutes to reach full pressure and you would be long dead before then.

Even by the time you reach the normal boiling point you would die or soon thereafter, but sadly, the pressure won't increase significantly until that point.

Which means death by pressure cooker would be pretty similar to death by boiling water, but much slower as instead of dying very fast because you were put directly into boiling water (which would still take WAY to long and seem like an eternity while you were dying), you actually do a bugs bunny and slowly get cooked in the water as it heats up.

Now it would heat up faster than in a cauldron like bugs bunny was in, but...he basically left before it became more then a nice hot tub, so the slow increase was a good thing.

Considering the increase in pressure probably escalates the hotter the water gets, I would imagine that most of the 10-15 minutes is getting the water up to the boiling point and converting it into steam.

I would imagine therefore, that you would probably live at least a few minutes before the heat killed you, and the last 2 minutes would be REALLY unpleasant.

If you found yourself in such a situation I would highly recommend breathing out all your air, breathing in water, and submerging yourself and hope you die from drowning before it got too hot/painful. Sadly that isn't very likely even if you do breathe out because you only have a few minutes at most before everything heats up. Still, would probably be your best bet to avoid serious suffering.
