According to federal statistics, African-American perpetrators are more likely than any other group to attack Asian-Americans. It happens quite a bit.

Most racial violence in this country, most violence of all kinds, occurs within racial groups. Whites are the most likely to attack Whites, Blacks are the most likely to attack Blacks, etc. The only exception we found were Asians. Asians were more likely to be attacked by African-Americans than by members of their own ethnicity.

What are your thoughts on this?

People aren't denying the statistics, they're just irked that he brings that up after a mass shooting of Asians.

Seems really sus after 7 people are murdered and people are shocked/upset to go "Yeah but look at the blacks!" is a really weird reaction.

Imagine going up to a male rape victim, hearing his story and your response is "Yeah but women are raped more often!"

He's using a thing that happened as a way to shift blame on to black people. Nobody on earth is stupid enough not to see or understand what he's doing; you either see it and say "yo, that's fucked up", or you see it, understand his angle, and either don't care that he's pushing it or agree with it.

This same "b-b-but muh stats" angle has been used historically with black people. The context is not considered because the people pushing "muh stats" don't care about the context because the goal is to antagonize black people.

If Tucker said this as a one-off, maybe it'd be different. But he's said a number of racist things before, his head writer was a nazi, and he denies white supremacy exists.

Even if it wasn't bad timing, the way in which he's quoting the statistics is disingenuous at best. In 2018, there were 182k violent incidents where Asians were the victims. Out of those incidents, 27% were commited by black people, 24% by white people and another 24% commited by other Asians. So yes, it's technically correct to say that Asians are attacked by black people more than by other races, it doesn't mean that black people are specifically targeting Asian people.

If you actually look at the total number of victims instead of just the percentages then it would look like this

Number of victims of violent crimes committed by black people in 2018
547,948 white people

396,449 black people

112,364 hispanic people

50,113 asian people

But apparently, black people are specifically targeting asians? Numbers don't tell that story.
