Yep, until there is a solution for the drifting I'm not so sure I want to hop on a PS5. Getting the Joycons fixed or replacing is time consuming/expensive as it is, I can't deal with another controller having the same issues.

Use the app. Don't refresh when it's out of stock, you want that add to cart button to remain for the next 10 minute drop. Then as soon as it ticks over to the next drop window, hammer add to cart. If using a phone position the screen so add to cart and the failed message overlap so you can just hit the same spot on the phone repeatedly

If you have to refresh to get the add to cart button back you're massively reducing your chances

Series X just went in stock for a hot second.

trying on the app and still can't do it; it's saying it's out of stock the moment "Add to Cart" even becomes available

I think I got 3 'out of stock' alerts before the 4th attempt added it to the cart. You'll see a little yellow circle appear on your cart icon on the bottom right if it got added, which you can click to take you to checkout.
Edit: For Android at least, not sure on the ios app.

Congrats guys. PS5 is definitely hard mode compared to Series X. I got my PS5 during a massive Target drop for in-store pickup a few days after Christmas. As always, PS5s were gone in seconds, but Series X/S stock lasted significantly longer. Most stores in my area still had some stock of both models as late as an hour after the drop.

Was my first time trying the app. It seems like the Add to Cart button stays up after the first time so you can hit it at the actual 10 minute mark. Then I just clicked through to order.

Yep, same. It took a few clicks once it hit the 10 minute mark but I eventually got it.

Lmao fuck this, I had the Add to Cart button ready to go from the 2:30 attempt and it went away at 2:39

So after I added it to my cart the first time and failed checkout it put it in the "save for later" part and the normal add to card button disappeared at 2:20 I had to remove it from that list to try again for 2:30 and that worked for me.

Like seriously did people do this like I said. Told this trick to 4 people in my office today who wanted it and it worked for all 4 of them.

I've managed to get 5 this way too (I don't resell for profit, I've sold them all to friends at cost)

I'm surprising my brother with this gift the next time I visit. He's gonna lose it. Thanks for the tips, everyone!

Edit: excitement aside, it's scheduled to arrive by April 8 - plenty of time for them to cancel on me.

I used Walmart's website on my desktop, btw. The app isn't working that well for me (though I used the same method of keeping the "Add to Cart" button open from the prior attempt and then mashing it as soon as the clock struck 12:50).
