What game do you think is most worth it or the most fun to pick up right now?

Hi there Hockey, how's it going?

Hitman 3, Spidey Miles, and Demon Souls Remake are the 3 best next gen games from what I've seen. Ghost Of Tsushima however is a much better game than all of those.

That said, I'd personally wait till they go on sale, as they likely will on Black Friday.

I also recommend keeping an eye on the Videogamedeals twitter. Games are on sale ALL the freaking time!

Unless you're loaded, save your money, and wait for sales. This isn't the 90's anymore, and most games don't become hard to find. And don't pre-order.

I've played Spider-Man: MM, Valhalla, and GoT, (and technically Demon's Souls). Picked Ghost of Tsushima

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is DLC repurposed into a standalone game. If you played the PS4 Spider-Man, this game reuses the same locations down to the gang hideouts. Sure, you get new venom powers, but even the bosses are recycled. There's only two new villains iirc (been a while since I beat it). If you're itching for more Spider-Man it will certainly scratch that itch, but if you've played the first game it's worth waiting for a steep sale.

If you like the direction Assassin's Creed has headed with Origins and Odyssey, you'll probably like Valhalla. But it's the weakest of those 3 entries imho. I don't like how they tweaked the combat, and the characters are less memorable. Still worth playing if you're into those games.

Bluepoint did fantastic work with the Shadow of the Colossus remake. I've heard good things about their Demon's Souls remake, but I've also heard some gripes mostly from Souls purists who wanted a more faithful remake. Personally I wouldn't be bothered by tweaks to the remake as long as they serve to enhance or update the experience, but I haven't played it so can't speak to the changes. Did play Demon's Souls on PS3 though and it's awesome.

Haven't played Hitman 3 but I hear good things about it. I did enjoy Hitman 2 so it's probably good?

As for Ghost of Tsushima... I want to be careful not to overhype it while explaining why I chose it. The game is not groundbreaking. It doesn't reinvent the wheel. It treads very familiar territory if you've played any of the dozens of open-world action adventure titles from the past decade. That said, while its not necessarily a "new" experience, what Sucker Punch has created is done very well. The world is one of the more visually stunning worlds I've played in. The characters and overall plot are good. Side missions are about as good as they get and serve a purpose where they provide you with gear that can fundamentally alter the overall gameplay and how you choose to play the game. The music is great. The combat is fun and has an element of skill to it. You can power through most encounters with button mashing but if you take your time master the parry system you can become a fucking badass merchant of death. I loved the game. I can see how someone might not have as great a time with it as I have due the preamble about it being kinda well-worn territory, but man did I have fun with that game. I haven't played much of the Legends mode but what I have played was fun.

Immortals is a lot of fun, too. It's like Ubisoft's attempt at Breath of the Wild, but they pull off just enough to make the game stand on its own imho

The puzzles are fun without being too challenging. The writing turned out to be a lot more humorous than I expected. The combat is pretty fun. Easy to become overpowered especially if you're the type to explore and do side quests. Fun game.

Thanks for all the input dude. I actually played Immortals already and was very surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Great recommendation

Ghost of Tsushima seems like a pretty solid pick for me based on everything you've said. I think I might grab that.

Thanks for your input too EchoBaz! Didn't mean to skip over your help

As for Cyberpunk, I don't think they've actually released the version for PS5/XSX yet.

I'll be picking up Assassin's Creed Valhalla when I get around to buying a PS5 so I voted that. Devil May Cry 5 special edition is also appealing and is the only current "next gen" exclusive I want.

I've got Devil May Cry 5 for the PS4 and I need to look into whether or not there is a free upgrade to a PS5 version.

Personally I have not been impressed with any of the PS5 games thus far so I think I'll wait until the end of summer early fall to snag one.

There isn't. Vergil is actually DLC on the PS4 version so I guess that's fair. Although the 60fps, ray tracing and new modes only in the special edition along with Vergil is very appealing to me. Plus it's like half the price of a full game.

That was my plan after buying a launch PS4, but I have no self control and made it barely 4 months before I saw PS5's available and grabbed one.

Well that's a bummer. This is my first time trying DMC since I think the third one. Hopefully I get into it and then I'll think about the PS5 version.

5 is a direct sequel to 4 but 4 isn't needed to play the game and enjoy it. Devil May Cry 5 is well worth playing. It'll load faster on PS5 too regardless of what version you buy so that's something.
