I loved Omori, I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot. Generally I find modern indie games are more creative/artistic than AAA ones yes.

That was the last new game I bought as in recently-released, but I picked up another indie game called Factorio to play with some friends the other day.

that's insanely closed-minded, considering that video games are mathematically provably the best storytelling medium

like imagine a movie where you can press a button and get a different ending. it's certainly not *worse* than a movie where you are stuck with the only ending the creators put in there, and it may be better, if the alternate ending is better. video games are just that but moreso. there are plenty of things that are possible in video games but not movies. video games can already do everything movies can, just like movies can do everything books can (except for being physical things)

You can just not press the button. It would be like if all of a sudden Titanic had a second secret ending if you yell "Beetlejuice" at the screen 3 times or something. If that ending sucked would you go "oh Titanic is now a worse movie?" Or would you just watch the movie as it is without screaming Beetlejuice at the screen?

But if the ending were better you'd be like "oh cool Titanic just got better"

Yeah, it's like now there's a new shorter movie that may be better. And if cutting the movie early doesn't improve it, then just watch the whole thing.
