Which area did you have the most issues with?

I think Sen's gave me the most issues overall, but I could see all of these being viable answers.

i'd say it depends on when you tackle different areas in the game.

blighttown was the most difficult for me on the ps3 just due to the broken frame rate.

catacombs & tomb of the giants are the most difficult if you don't realize you are supposed to go up at the start of the game instead of down

once your build really gets online, none of the later areas are so bad. i found anor londo difficult, but everything after that felt fairly clinical

anything early in the game is rough, especially if you don't already know how to play

You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50. That means I should remain uninjured.

Undead Parish by far tbh. Once you get past that, you understand the game 100x better than you did before, and every other section is pretty straightforward. Except Blighttown...

I think what makes some of the later areas difficult is the 'gimmicks'. TotG and New Londo are a lot easier with specific gear, but I can't imagine doing them without things like the Sunlight Maggot or Cursed Greatsword of Artorias.

As for Blighttown I was lucky enough to be playing the Remastered version, I also entered from Valley of the Drakes pretty grateful for both haha.

I don't think I've ever heard of anyone actually using Cursed Greatsword of Artorias in a first playthrough. The odds of you getting it much less knowing about it are basically zero without a guide. Even then your build may not accommodate it and you can't use shields, so it seems like a very noob unfriendly option.

Yeah I lucked into that. I was curious about the Boss Weapons and started looking into them before reaching New Londo, plus I had been using the Black Knight Sword earlier so it fit like a glove.

I did try the transient curses in NG+, but one ran out right as I entered one of the ambushes. Was not a fan.

Ornstein and Smough gave me the most trouble out of anything on my first playthrough, in part because I didn't know how to get a weapon that was good against Ornstein. It took half an hour to whittle him down and nothing else in the game even came close to that.

Blighttown and Sen's Fortress were pretty bad too but it at least felt like I was making progress in those when I died.

Initial playthrough-Either Blighttown or Tomb of the Giants.

After playing hundreds to maybe thousands of hours-Lost Izalith. Mostly because it's garbage, not because of game design.

Tomb of the Giants for me. Not a fun area either.

To the best of my memory, Anor Londo was by far the hardest area in the game.

Actually my real answer is Great Hollow as the only area that I just rage quit after like two attempts and never returned to.

Tomb of the Giants and Crystal Caves are the two most tedious places in the game.
