Just saw that KHUX will cease operation at the end of May, but, unlike most online-only gachafests, rather than being delisted entirely, it will still be downloadable as an offline 'game' in which you can watch the entire storyline with a customised avatar.

The Dark Road side-game (which is young Xehanort's origin story, I think) and the Game & Watch knockoff ex tres mode will still be playable too.

So if there's any KH fans who don't want to gacha but do want to know what the fuck is going on with Unchained, you'll be able to find out soon. Apparently the story will actually be finished at that point too, with an ending and everything (although probably not one that actually explains things).

I've long said that any online only game that ends service should be required to make an offline version available, so while it's disappointing that they're removing the gameplay, this is a step in the right direction. Hopefully one day defunct gachas will be have fully free offline story mpdes.

I'm actually really glad they're doing this since KH3 made it clear that the mobile game shenanigans are going to be immensely important to the franchise going forward. But man the gacha game was legit wretched.

I do wonder if the plot of the game will eventually be recycled into a console game as Re: Union Cross or something down the road.
