Well, not that I would want to work there... but for one reason only and to call them out and ask them about this
no "bathroom breaks" issues Ive been hearing about. This is more of just an experiement to see how the interviewer would react on this
question is its something thats been known for a while now. But in terms of any interviews I go in for, most of the times they are surprised at the questions
I ask that normally people dont really tend to ask, lol. Say for example, "What do you like about working here?" And you'd be surprised at how much they kinda divert the question a bit and I take it as a red flag. Or what really grinds my gears is the pay. For whatever reason, its taboo to bring up the pay and
for whatever else reason at times its not even listed also...and look, Id rather not waste each others time and I know my worth here.

I work at an Amazon fulfillment center and after having read a bunch of stories about people peeing in bottles because they were afraid to take a bathroom break I had expected to see piss bottles everywhere once our site opened up. Haven't seen a single one yet. The bathrooms are never empty when I go in them. Plenty of people seem to be using them on a regular basis.

Well thats good news for ya dude. Im happy to hear there is none of that going on over there. And when all of this news broke a few years back, it started to honestly make me think why would anyone do that to the people they hire to act like mindless robots that are not allowed to take a piss.

That's not even how it was alleged to work. The claim was that the quota system made it hard for them to use the bathroom without hitting their numbers, not that anybody prevented them from using the bathroom. And, quite honestly, a *lot* of companies with time metrics look at shit like that. And a lot of customer-facing jobs won't necessarily give you a chance to use the bathroom when you need to at times.

One of my relatives worked for Amazon and she said they treat people like slaves in that they time and monitor your every move and they have security check points you pass through on a daily basis. Amazon requires employees to scan 1800 packages per hour or 30 packages per minute. That may be great for Amazon shareholders and customers but that isn't good for the people who have to scan and fetch the packages in terms of their health. Amazon workers from my understanding get two 30 min breaks but in some facilities it can take a workers up to 15 to 20 minutes to walk to the breakroom and that's counted as your break time.

People in this country do not realize that workers over the years, especially hour paid workers have lost many of the rights that were once in place. As an example there is no Federal Laws that regulate overtime meaning your employer could work force you to work OT as much as they want and you have no recourse against it.

But lets keep this in perspective. America is and always will be a slave colony and some people here won't like that but it because it was founded on slavery and today slavery still exists in America in a quasi form and also keep in mind most of then people today in America who hold down jobs like Amazon or in food production etc are roughly 75% immigrants and the people in charge often times are White males so.

like giving you 15$ hourly as tier 1?
like giving you paid time off, unpaid time off, vacation time?
like giving you plenty of chances to work extra shifts if you want?
like giving holiday pay even if you don't work that day?

I mean a bit presumptuous to assume youd even make it to the interview stage

Also no offence but dont you have other things to be doing with your time that dont involve going out of your way to take some other candidates interview spot just to ask some some bullshit gotcha question thats probably been answered already if you look hard enough

i mean it took literally 4 or 5 posts to give a bit more context to the whole bathroom break thing you probs dont need to be so extra

even the tiny building I worked at had two breakrooms. if it takes you 15 minutes to walk to a breakroom you are too old or too fat to work at amazon.

btw, breaks are 20mins

Thats the whole point of getting a life. All of a sudden its wrong to ask questions? To call out something that was bullshit? Well, if Im going to work to work for you, and you treat people like that from what I saw, I honestly would like to know before hand first and foremost.

I worked as a stower for them and, well...

Technically you have 'unlimited' bathroom breaks, but even if you want to be a good little worker it was a three-to-five minute hike for me to the nearest restroom and it was woefully small compared to the actual need. Like, two stalls total. I always saw a line in both the mens and womens areas going out the door. When a bathroom break can easily take 5-10 minutes just to travel back and forth and there's a line any hope of filling a quota may as well go up in smoke.

But youre not just asking questions.

Youre jumping on your high horse and aiming to waste Amazons time, and take a genuine candidates interview spot in the hope of catching them out with a weak gotcha question that isnt nearly as big a deal as youre making out by the sound of it. Youve already conceded some ground on the no bathroom breaks in this topic alone.

so yeah maybe get a life

Its not virtue singling especially when I see how much of a hard on this board has for Jen or Duckybear, lol.
And FYI, I actually did get the job, and of course did ask the questions I intended to ask. This has nothing to do with stroking my ego or call it what you want but thats just your opinion, but I call it what I see and I saw other wise from what I saw. In other words, I am actually quite happy things went over well during orientation and the guy said "Even though despite what you heard, we dont do that here." Well, I start in a few days and Ill see if this has any merit to what hes says is true.

It kinda reminds me when I worked many other warehouse/factory jobs, one in particular had bathrooms all the way fucking down on the other side of the factory so even that was a hike to get there. Around the same time frame to get there and back pretty much and as long as you werent fucking around, everything was peachy. However, I can certainly see how people abuse it also and Ive seen many. I guess when you have in most places trying to fill a quota, then yeah...even then that creates issues itself.

It's true. Wasn't really wanting to work there like I said. But, eh...might as well go through with it at this point anyways. And as for Duckybear and Jen? Yeah. Exactly what I meant. Potd, is the gift that keeps on giving. Where else could you find a topic of discussion regarding plastic surgery and then it blowing up because well...Jen. Potd, seriously loves Jen. And even that's pretty dumb. Like actually watching an episode for a Kardashian butt lift.

This topic has nothing to do with duckbear or jen

youre trying to deflect because your topic is all over the place

first its ima book an interview to call them out on their no bathroom breaks
oh I dont really wanna work there
then you get told there is bathroom breaks
then you concede some more ground

all of a sudden youre working at amazon even after saying you have no intention of working at amazon and you wonder why youre getting called out for your bs? Your topic is a mess take it like a man and stfu

I know I should focus on the core nonsense, but it's like he's playing with a laser pointer. I know it's a super-weird deflection, but now I'm curious what was intended by the deflection.
