Took me 37 minutes:
(Use the color tool)

Rules:

The F pentomino can be flipped or rotated, the F isn't necessarily at the center.

I already saw the video for this. I love this channel but don't try all of them.

Bobbins, I thought I'd have somebody here to compete with me.

I almost never try them, but he opened the video being like 'do this one' and since it seemed more approachable I actually did.

Probably not, because I can't even understand the fucking directions.

Yup. I love doing puzzles, but have no idea what the fuck it is asking.

You are just turning the grid into 2 colors

Let's say
"part of the snake" = red
"not part of the snake" = blue
-Any blue part must be exactly 5 cells big and cannot touch any other blue part orthogonally.
-Also the red snake cannot touch itself orthogonally.
-The snake must start and end at the circles.
-Also the F has to be in a blue section of 5 that looks like that F shape (but it can be flipped or rotated)

orthogonally
That's one of the issues for us. What does that mean? I'm guessing touching side by side, since the problem mentions diagonally is OK.

If you think of a 3x3 grid, the squares that are orthogonal to the center are north/south/east/west whereas the squares that are diagonal are the corners (northeast, southeast, northwest, southwest)

Orthogonal = touching directly (not touching by corners)

Look at your numpad:
2,4,6, and 8 are orthogonal to 5.
1,3,7, and 9 are diagonal to 5.

How are you supposed to use only diagonals to connect two circles that are not on the same grid of diagonals?

The snake is continuous. So like it is a snake made up of orthogonal parts, it's just that it can't ever touch itself. (like the head can't touch a different part)

If it's easier, think of it this way: Aside from the 2 red circles (the head and tail of the snake) all red snake squares are orthogonal to exactly 2 other red snake squares (and there are no red squares that aren't part of the snake)

If you think about it as a snake, obviously the body of the snake is going to be connected to the next part of the body of the snake, a snake's body being continuous isn't it "touching itself".

If you want a really good explanation of the rules though you can watch the first 5 minutes (he starts explaining the rules at 2:15)
(Warning, it spoils how to solve it, so do not watch past 5 minutes)

If you just want to see how it's solved, you can watch the rest.

Many people consider diagonal things to be adjacent
