I have a mesh office chair that I bought at Costco for $100. It's pretty comfortable, and it offers better back support than my old chair. The arm rests are adjustable for about 2 inches in height and length and about 1 inch each in width, and they can swing up out of the way. The back piece tilts backwards with adjustable tension while the seat remains fixed, or the back can be locked upright. And like most office chairs it has a gas piston for adjustable height, though I don't think it goes as low as my old chair, which is a bad thing because my computer desk is relatively low. It is mostly plastic so I'm not sure how long this chair will last, however, Costco allows unlimited returns so if it breaks, I can always get my money back.

I think it's this one: https://www.costco.com/bayside-furnishings-metrex-iv-mesh-office-chair.product.100522611.html
It's cheaper in stores than online.

Obviously not a mesh chair, I could never get comfortable in those. I like it due to the lumbar pillow and head cushion, although it admittedly doesn't match the ascetic of my office. I just didn't want to spend the money on one that actually matches my desk (and would arguably be less comfortable).

Yea, I have never used that. I pretty much just leave it in the 90 degree position. I might switch to 120 degree during a long meeting but usually not.

Mesh chairs seem alright, but they probably aren't very warm in a cold room.

Had to check I got a work pro quantum 9000.

It felt weird at first going all mesh from padded.

Its solid and surprisingly heavy but all I really have to compare it too are your standard cheap chairs from walmart and such so it's easily the best chair I've had.

One think while the comfort is allot better mesh isn't really cozy. I didn't think of throwing cushions on it though.

And I kind of wish it had a head rest or was high back sometimes.

It's a very dense foam padding.

No, my current one sucks, but it's well-constructed and very sturdy. My older ones were comfortable, although the last one was absolute shit (lasted maybe 5 years, if even that) in terms of quality and the one before that -- which was amazing and even had built-in rollers for its massage feature -- broke and I made the stupid decision of leaving it out on my porch while trying to find a way to get fixed so the elements eventually destroyed it.

This current not-very-comfortable one was pre-owned and has cat hair ingrained into the fabric, which I wouldn't consider a problem if it was from one I owned. Instead that just strikes me as weird so I toss a blanket over it as a covering. However, it works kinda okay, is sturdy as fuck (the previous owner -- now deceased -- was overweight, so it has to be pretty durable). I picked it up because I needed a replacement after that cheap Staples one finally finished falling apart (first an arm fell off, then either back or another arm, etc), hadn't go around to seriously looking for one (and most of what I saw didn't impress me), and I just happened to stumble onto this one at an estate sale where they were asking for next to nothing (seriously, I might have only paid $5 or $10). I had figured it would tide me over until I found something I liked, but I just never got around to it. That was... maybe two or three years ago? Possibly more?

I've never liked mesh chairs. They're ugly, uncomfortable, and easy to substantially damage.

Then go with a fabric. Because if your cat murdered a leather chair, if it so much hops up on a mesh one you're probably see it ruined.

Which is gorgeous (although that's clearly a veneer and the stitchwork on the material looks cheap), but goddamn if that chair isn't set low to the ground.

Side note my cat loved sleeping in the old chair but doesn't touch the new one so I ended up keeping the old chair for her bed anyway.
