Zeus 02/25/21 9:54:23 PM #5:	Probably Captain America. Cap 1 was solid, but not amazing. WS was incredible. CW was great. So I liked the whole series. By contrast, I liked Thor 1, DW was kinda shit, and I loved Thor 3/Ragnarok. I loved IW (possibly my favorite MCU film) and AoU, but Avengers 1 was garbage and EG was a fucking mess. I like GotG 1 and 2, so I guess that would be second after Captain America (although, in the long run, I might like GotG more since they're changing Cap). I really enjoyed Antman. AM&W was alright. Uh, what? I don't remember the soul stone coming up in DW, and the stone it did introduce was handled kinda weirdly. Beyond that, the humor was kinda meh, the villains felt b-grade scifi, the storylines felt jumbled, and the pacing straight-up sucked so it felt slow half the time. And Captain Marvel was probably the worst MCU film so you should feel bad about that. Carol doesn't really have a character arc where she learns or grows in a meaningful way like every other superhero, instead she was practically perfect in the beginning and by the end she's still practically perfect and we learn ~~that she never had any problems because everything was just society trying to hold her back and, oh yeah, she's not practically perfect, she's actually perfect~~. And the fact that she never grows as a character is probably why she's still an insufferable person by the end. And that was just one reason why Captain Mary-Sue was fucking terrible movie. Compare that to Iron Man who was broken down and had his worldview shattered almost immediately, then spends his movie coping with his father and company's legacy while becoming more selfless. Thor learning humility and growing as a person. Carol doesn't really have a character arc where she learns or grows in a meaningful way like every other superhero, instead she was practically perfect in the beginning and by the end she's still practically perfect and we learn that she never had any problems because everything was just society trying to hold her back and, oh yeah, she's not practically perfect, she's actually perfect. And the fact that she never grows as a character is probably why she's still an insufferable person by the end. And that was just one reason why Captain Mary-Sue was fucking terrible movie. Compare that to Iron Man who was broken down and had his worldview shattered almost immediately, then spends his movie coping with his father and company's legacy while becoming more selfless. Caps had three movies though...and on top of that Winter Soldier and Civil War which were some of my favorites of the MCU...so I have to go with him. In general, the problem with Thor 1 & 2 was the pacing. The first was better than the second, but even then it was slow as fuck. Thor 3 went the opposite direction by making it a madcap adventure where they were constantly hopping between shit, making it ironically the fastest-paced MCU film despite come from the slowest series. The Doctor Strange scene pretty much encapsulates the whole movie's pacing. And while Thor 3 was a mess, at least it was fun.
