Does Texas deserve to be bailed out?

I'm not saying they deserved what happened, but at the same time its a state that routinely mocks literally anyone/anything thats not Texas, eschews progress of any kind, has a giant chip on its shoulder about how tough they are and don't "need nobody", and has floated the idea of sucession more than once. Again, while routinely mocking every other state in the union for not being Texas.

Personally I'm kind of sick of Texas' attitude and then every few years it falls apart over the SAME fucking thing: Texan/GOP hubris.

To that point, why on fucking earth would a liberal/dem want to live in Texas? Everyone knows what the climate is there, and it's never going to change. To that point I promise you Ted Cruz will be re elected, because "at least he ain't no gaaaaal daaaanged LIBRUL!"

Why not? Genuine question. Not to say moving cross country is a small task (I've done it thrice), but its also not impossible. One of the reasons I left MN last year is its just FAR too liberal and will never change. So instead of bitching about it and being unhappy with how I'm governed, I left

I mean, this is what they voted for. But yes, as a US state they deserve to be bailed out. I just hope they hold their "leadership" accountable after the fact and don't continue attacking those who are actually helping them. AOC has done more for Texas through this than Ted Cruz has, but if they continue to attack her and vote for Cruz after all this I'm gonna lose sympathy for them.

I'm In favor of helping the people get warm, fed, and clean running water. The obscenely high electrical bills and getting their grid back up and running, that needs to be fixed by the state's elected leaders. Taxpayers from others states with properly regulated electrical grids should not be on the hook for fixing a state that has problems that they are aware of and refuse to fix.

Even the politicians, while people wanna place the full blame on, were not the bad guy, or at least the the primary one. It was the greedy corporations that cut corners and decided not to place the preventive measures for the what if occurrence.

The elected officials could have done their job to protect the people of their state and required the corporations to take the proper preventative measures. They chose not to because they were in the pockets of said of corporation.

@ZeroX91 They were warned about this in a report on the 2011 freeze that happened. They chose not to do anything about it.

You'll have to elaborate. If you're referring to 9/11, good day sir. If you're referring to them getting pounded by coastal storms, they can't really help that. Texas made the decision to have their very own grid because greed, the GOP, and Texas.
