a bunch of people were buying power under Griddy -- which is outright wholesale prices instead of going into some sort of energy company directly.

When prices spike up to more than $11 a kilowatt hour, yeah, shit gets expensive quick.

I doubt it. Electric companies are probably about to get nothing because people are going to be homeless if they try to pay that shit off.

One wholesale power supplier, Griddy, made a surprising decision. CEO Michael Fallquist told Griddys 29,000 customers to abandon his service and switch providers: We want whats right by our consumers, so we are encouraging them to leave.

I don't know what that is supposed to accomplish if they're all kinda going through the same network anyway?

Lol, you know what, I'm on board with this. Though it's unlikely that either of them would fight to defend any part of Texas. Ted would probably just fly to Cancun again and Jones would just make the Cowboys go defend it in his stead.

Texas bit more than they chew when they decided to have their own power grid instead of joining say the midwest's or the mountain state's grid networks. They had more of a responsibility and nearly 2 1/2 decades to upgrade their grid for winter weather because when the power goes, no help would come.

My heating bill was $180 last month (combines water, gas, sewer) in Nebraska. We had some cold ass days this week but nothing too crazy compared to normal winter

if it goes up to thousands of dollars Im literally not going to pay it because I dont have that kind of money and neither do most normal Americans.

No it isn't.
When your town has one electric company, one gas company, one water company, and probably also one internet company, due to "municipal franchise" monopolies, that market isn't free.
