I have hit a deer twice. Both times I knew for a fact that I hit a deer. Depending on road conditions, you might not know for certain you hit a deer but I can see myself making that logical assumption depending on where I hit someone. If Im on a highway known for deers early on a foggy morning and hit something, I would probably assume its a deer too.
