Having been a Southerner, while some of it is the lack of winter driving skills (can't learn what you don't practice), more of it is on the infrastructure. The roads in the south are at least ten times as bad in one tenth of the inclement weather, even an experienced winter weather driver would have a tough time.

People do overestimate their ability though and should just stay put.

The reality here is that in a few days you will discover why all of the northern snow removal infrastructure isn't that needed when the snow melts away all on its own

I'm in MN and the temperature hasn't been above 0 degrees in over a week. Southern states act so dramatic about the slightest hint of winter.

Then why did states with lesser economies and harsher weather not go thru this? Also, Dallas and Northern Texas aren't immune to freezing weather, so idk where this narrative of Dallas having winters akin to Cancun, Mexico came from.

People are driving on the roads, I drove on the roads and they were fine other than a few patches under bridges. You act like every Texan is holed up in their house because theirs a snowflake on the grass which isn't true at all in some places.

I don't know when I can return to normalcy but for now I"m living at my friend's apartment who is near a hospital and has power but not wifi or water. Its snowed everyday, I suppose this is part of round 3 for us. First we got the ice, then a bunch a snow, now were getting more snow, its going pretty good out there.

If you aren't here in Texas experiencing it firsthand, just stop trying to give advice. Many of us in Austin are transplants and have dealt with heavy snow before in northern states. You don't know what you're talking about no matter how many snow storms in the north you've lived through, so your "advice" is worthless and patronizing. especially considering how derisively you mocked texans the past few days.
