I played the Telltale game (it was good)

But never saw the TV show or read the comic or played that other game that everyone hated.

Thoughts on the pilot:

Good shot from cop guy off the bat. Bullseye on a small target... Not sure why a zombie would pick up a teddy though.

This is pretty much the same openinng as 28 days later

I enjoyed the pilot but I don't get why the show started off by showing that he was fine, the flashed back to showing him in danger.... so there was no tension whatsoever...

Regarding this, minor spoiler I guess...

You'll see more instances of this throughout Season 1. Some zombies show a little more intelligence, such as climbing, vaguely recalling how to use a door knob, and more. This is removed starting with Season 2.

It starts out with a great first season, a slow-but-interesting second season, a fantastic third and fourth season, a decent fifth and sixth, and then...well...you know.

Season 1 is amazing because every episode was different and shit was happening every episode. Later seasons they got a lower budget per episode I think so they would settle down somewhere and like over 60 percent of the episode would be happening on wherever they settled along with another 10 percent being conversation and action being walking along some abandoned road or in the woods. It's not horrible all the time or whatever but it's a big difference for season 1 where every episode wasn't about him trying to get vack to or defend one particular place.

I still like the show though so idk

I really enjoyed the Walking Dead when it first started. The problem is that it drags on and on. I know the comics went on for a long time, but the show really could have benefited from being shorter.

That said though, there are still some really good moments in there, in between all of the super slow episodes. Hope you enjoy it TC.

Not totally sure what episode your on, but do they actually know the bites do it yet? Cuz I don't think they actually know that at the very beginning. Or is it That other thing that comes later on in S2-3 that is the big revelation?

Also agree with everyone else's explanations of TWD. Its a good show thats anchored down by stretching everything out too thin to fit a TV season.

This show is bad at tension. Show Rick and the Gang arguing, that's tense then show the door opening as a finale.

Still one of my favorite shows. Later seasons definitely have a lot of filler and characters getting conveniently hit with the stupid jackass stick but I really enjoy the world building they do, the characters are overall really enjoyable, and obviously the zombie effects and action is top notch. Just started catching up on season 10.
