Do you write in cursive?

Personally, I never really warmed up to cursive. I haven't used it in a long time, so there are some letters I don't remember how to do. I usually only write by hand to jot down notes, so I don't have any need to go back and re-learn it.

I know how, but I generally don't because printing is easier to read.

Might help if any part of that was English.

I use to go to private school, so I learned cursive a year early. Then I switched to public school where I "learned" cursive again. Because I was writing in cursive for so long without using print, I almost forgot how to write regular print. I had to learn because even good cursive can be hard to read. I think because of that, I had kind of bad handwriting for a little while. It's still not much better. After re-learning print, I haven't really used cursive outside of signing my name. I have even forgotten some of the letters that I don't ever really use...

I never really understood it's use, though...

Edit: Just looked it up. It was probably because of fountain pens...

I write in a weird combination of cursive and print. I had to sign my name on a legal document not long ago and the lady told me," No, we need your signature!" I was a bit confused and told her that was my signature.

For fun, but I'd never use it in a professional environment.

Didn't vote, because there was no "kind of option".

I can write in cursive, but my default handwriting is a weird hybrid of print, cursive, tengwar, runes and a personal shorthand that grew out of jotting down NES passwords as a kid and working a parts counter at an electrical supply house for a dozen years taking orders at the counter and over the phone.

If I'm leaving a note that I actually intend another person to read, I have to make a conscious effort to use far more normal text.

Some of my old notebooks would look like the voynich manuscript to the untrained eye.

Yes. I have to make a conscious effort to stop using it. It was drilled in hard by my mother and, at the time, we had no clue it would become increasingly useless. My normal print is terrible now and looks almost like a child's handwriting while my cursive is flowing and well-refined. I've never had issues with legibility or the like.

No, it's mostly useless outside of signatures imo.

I write in cursive about 50% of the time. Though I just generally don't write much anymore.

I can and used to do it far more frequently. But I've had to write so many daily activity logs and incident reports in my job and those are required to be printed. I totally fell out of the habit of using cursive due to the overwheliming majority of my writing over the last several years being those damned reports.

I used to a lot in primary school. I dunno bout now but back then it was actually taught to small children along with block writing. We had those old school double lined writing books for practice. I went through a whole phase where that's all I wrote. As I got older I lost the need for it. I still have an extravagant signature though.
