The best example I can think of is something like Settlers of Catan, (or Clonk) where you have to work together to a common goal, but you still gotta be the 'best' by the end.

There's a cool mod in Civ 6 where you have to settle Australia and it's pretty much exactly that, I liked that

I was considering including that as an option so I'm glad you mentioned it...

Whenever we played L4D2 (turtwig) I would almost always win every category :D

Didnt the Mass Effect multiplayer give you better rewards if you had more kills against the enemy? Or was the scoring a separate thing and the whole group got the same rewards?

I don't know but I always like when it's there, I'm happy if it just shows detailed stats, in Smite we always look over the stat sheet and make fun of each other for doing poorly win or lose.

I know MG survive had this, top of the team would get slightly more stuff.

Games to day are all about microtransactions and nothing else. I miss the old days when gaming wasn't reliant on the internet as they are now.

Very valid point.

However my favorite Competitive Co-op game became very difficult to the point where I can no longer enjoy it anymore (Path of Exile) because the game developers thought it was a good idea that the main way people should consume the game is through streamers.
