Germany has been in lockdown since early December. The chancellor and state governers are meeting today, and in all likelihood the lockdown will continue for a month at least

And that's fine. I'm happy to play my part and stay at home as much as possible (I go to work once a week and shopping a few times a week, otherwise I tend to be at home).

But when I see and hear about people going outside and doing stuff, it does make me sad. Especially since I spend a lot of time around people from the US, and y'all seem to have barely let it affect you

At least we live in the age of smartphones, computers, etc.

Imagine if the only way to connect with people was old fashioned letters or like not at all? It could definitely be a lot worse.

Dont worry. Life was awful before the lockdown. Itll continue to be awful during and after the lockdown. Youre not missing out on anything you cant get later.

Well, the way I look at it, its the perfect time to figure out how to keep yourself entertained indoors too! Plus you could always go on walks or something like that out of the house so youre outside but still not with anyone

Teep you're doing the right thing. A hundred percent. I'm losing my mind and getting sad and angry as fuck, especially when I'm seeing friends be the ones ignoring it

There's really nothing to FOMO though, literally there is nothing going on except people taking pictures of regular normal stuff and making a whole spectacular thing out of it >_>

All people do is fart in bars and clubs and you have yer whole life ahead to travel and do as you please

Really some people just don't let this affect them because the alternative is literally getting upset at things completely out of your control. Shouldn't take away from your frustration it's just something that unfortunately no amount of anything will change the situation so you just sort of have to keep yourself and carry on <_<

I did just now. Didn't particularly help. I'm for of a cycling guy, but sub zero temperatures and ice on the roads don't really lend themselves towards cycling

I'm also under exam stress right now, which probably also contributes towards how I feel about things

Oh yeah I forgot winter exists in other places lol. Its sunny here and Ive been taking walks during lunch and its been amazing for my mood. Winter makes things more depressing.

Yeah the lockdowns really are too much. I moved from Massachusetts (really restrictive) to Georgia (lets people decide how they want to handle it) mid pandemic and it's so much better down here (at least in the Savannah area).

But I've been doing a lot of work in Florida, and they are on a whole other level, complete disregard for even basic protective measures. It really might as well not exist in that state.

There's a good middle ground where you don't sacrifice mental health and people's businesses but still remain fairly safe.

It must be nice though - I think its always important to remember why you do the things you do though.. I dont want some kind of permanent damage happening to me or someone I know and that keeps me going
