How did you meet your current/former significant other?

If you've had multiple significant others, just pick the option most applicable to you (either where you've met the most or where you've met your "most significant" SO).

Tinder. Started out as hookups. Turned out we have a lot in common. Been together for 4 years getting married later this year(pandemic pending).

Current - Online through a dating app but I wasn't necessarily looking, just stumbled into it. I had been separated from my ex-wife for like 7 months (there was zero no hope of reconciliation). I hopped on Tinder for literally 1 weekend when I felt shitty. Ended up talking to one person but decided Tinder wasn't for me almost immediately so just sent her my number, told her I was deleting the app but didn't actually expect her to contact me. Took a few months for us to get together given my situation but we kept talking throughout it. It's a little over 4 years later now and we are getting married in April (delayed from December due to COVID). It's the best, healthiest relationship I've ever had.

On an online dating website back in 2011. Apparently my wife saw my profile a couple of months prior to me messaging her but didn't have the courage to message me first. We've now been married for 5 years and are expecting our first child next month!

Yeah, mine is pretty similar to this. She worked at the church camp we took our teens and kids to, and the camp director set us up since we were both single. It wasn't love at first sight since neither of us was keen on being set up with a stranger, but we eventually came around.

Met Tom at an improv theatre workshop in college! We were friends for 4 years, dated for 5 and got married 5 years ago. It's been very fun!

Unsolicited advice: develop your hobbies and interests, learn as much as you can about a variety of topics, and ask people what interests them. You can get away from boilerplate conversations ASAP this way, and really get to know what that person is passionate about.

When a person is excited about something, that's their most beautiful self, and you got to see it, all because you decided to listen. Congrats.

We all became friends online on I think one of those old .old bb proboard roleplaying sites before me and my significant other started talking more one-on-one on AIM way before we actually met in person.

We lived in the same dorm, I was on dorm cleaning duty and she needed to borrow my phone because she locked herself out. We became friends after that.

Me and my buddy frequented a specific store where she worked, one day I gave her my number after seeing her and saying hi a couple times. The rest is history, we had a good year or so.

Technically we met at anime club, though it was a forgotten first meeting.

Then at work I ran into a friend who invited me to play D and D with him and my husband is his best friend.

Going away party for a mutual friend (though more of an acquaintance for me). It was probably the last possible opportunity for us to have met and I almost didn't go.

Looking back it's kind of funny what chain of events had to happen to lead to us meeting.

Technically, I've had one girlfriend. I was in the second grade. I found out she liked me because she chased me on the playground. We hung around at her house once or twice. I was a terrible boyfriend who was more interested in her having Zork on her Commodore 64 than in her. She broke up with me after a week, which I found out when she started running away from me on the playground.

At the store, I complimented a piece of jewelry he was wearing, and weeks later we saw at each other at the mall and exchanged numbers. He's a good guy, I'm lucky to have him.

We worked together for a year and a half and became friends. We were friends for another 3 years before we started dating. Dated for 3 years before we broke up about 8 months ago. We've only been separated for about 6 of those months though as we still had to live together due to lease shit. We're both hopeful that we can still be friends and we've just started talking a bit again so hey!

Trying out these dating apps now and I don't think they're really for me but eh giving it a go.
