Probably not.

That's part of the appeal of Riverdale though. I would never call it a good show, but it's stupidity and absurdity mixed with the dramatic acting makes it entertaining enough.

I havent watched Riverdale or really read Archie comics but I think it's based on more modern alternate versions of Archie. Classic Archie is just funny stories and slice of life stuff. In the past 20 years I think they have done various alternate universe versions of the characters where the storied are more mature. And that's what the show is based on

The first season was a lot more slice of life stuff tbf. That's one reason it's so jarring, because while the first season still has a "darker" overall plot than you first think, there's a lot of normal kid shit too. Then it escalates to where these 16 year olds are (spoilers) running underground speakeasies and participating in underground right club etc

I can't tell if the girls in the show are attractive or not. They're supposed to be based on the blonde, redhead, and brunette of archie right?

Also the kid from big daddy is in this show right? And he's all grown up, with black hair, and surprisingly good looking?

season one sucked. It gets better as it goes.
