Vampire, because with all the marvelous things humans have invented over the ages, the one thing they haven't invented that they're in such dire need of... is a good predator. One with the pride and intellect needed to know that a predator's place is not to simply go after the first or the biggest prey they lay eyes on, but to strike with meaning, purpose, knowing that they exist to chip away at the pitiful and the wretched so as to aid their prey species as a whole by relieving it of the liabilities it has so much trouble letting go of on their own.

Vampire seems like such an obvious choice. Hell I'd happily take that over being human. The rest suck with the exception of demon but demon is too vague. There's like a million interpretations of demon some of which sound great and some of which sound awful.

Vampire obviously. You'd mostly look the same and blend into society. No horrible painful transformation like werewolf. Super strength among other powers. I don't go out much anyways so no Sun no problem.

I don't know. I'd probably spend the whole night plagued by a suspicion that I've shaved my sideburns to unequal lengths and being tortured by not being able to check. I'm not sure I could handle that for centuries on end.

So all curse no fun? Meanwhile we can just pick a vampire who, among other things, can have the power to transform into a wolf or dog?

Otherwise most versions of werewolves are (or least can be) scary. And not being bound by the moon is scarier for the general public than the version they can escape by staying indoors a few nights a month.

problem is you'll go into a frenzy at the sight and smell of blood giving yourself away. then you'll have to deal with vampire hunters

also going without drinking blood for x days will make you go insane and feral (unless your names angel)

Vampires historically have a lot of problems. Someone spills a jar of M&Ms? You gotta count them all. Fall into a quick-moving stream? You're dead! (running water has gotta be one of the lamest weaknesses ever)

Even traditional werewolves without control only need to find a way to lock themselves up once a month safely, and for that they get super strength, immunity to all sickness, can't be hurt by things that are not silver/regeneration, superior sense of smell etc.

Meanwhile you can eat and enjoy tastes just like before, have sex, have kids, have more sex, have orgies, have puppies, run fast, live in the wild easier, don't get cold, have more sex, and also have tons of stamina so they can run for days (or have sex for days).

Meanwhile vampires can't handle the sunlight, loose the desire and ability to consume tradiational food (though they can usually still drink, especially if it's mixed with blood), weak to holy symbols, priests, holy water, sunlight (Deadly) are forced to sleep during the day (Even if there is no sunlight) so are vulnerable all of the time. They must drink blood or they get weaker and weaker and they are basically undead (probably not fun).

Werewolf all the way.

PS. Also, Vampires can't eat pizza.......just sayin.

Worth noting the TC said classic Dracula vampire I believe, who in the original book while weakened by sunlight to the point of mode lock and normal human strength, could very much tolerate walking around in the daylight and successfully fought his way through like 5 of the protagonists long enough to escape at his weakest. Had to get killed via combination decapitation and stab to the heart (kukris worked for both parts of that) when in pseudo-sleep

I knew it originally from an X-Files episode, and of course there is The Count from Sesame Street, but reading about it, it's supposed to be a part of actual vampire folklore, where scattering seeds on the ground was an effective way to delay a vampire and something someone would actually do to safeguard a suspected vampire lair/tomb.
