Have you ever ate something at a restaurant that made you sick?

you'd be surprised to hear at how many people who DON'T complain to restaurant owners whenever something they ate at their establishment that made them sick...but have you ever ate something restaurant made that made you toss your cookies? fast food joints are the most popular for getting people sick..followed by seafood restaurants..

It's almost impossible to prove you get food poisoning from somewhere. I've never had it though so I've never had this issue.

My first time trying clams was at a Chinese buffet. Almost made me sick. The texture really grossed me out.
The above was a long time ago. The place has since closed down. A month or so ago, at a different Chinese buffet, something there messed with my stomach. I came close to vomiting, was convinced for a while that I was definitely going to hurl, even got to the pre-barf salivation, but it stayed down and before too much longer my condition cleared up. Not sure what did it, but some of the chicken was especially gristly.

Only times my guts have gone into full on purge from fast food has been a couple times over the course of half a dozen years when I let a Subway tuna sub go past two days before finishing it.

Pizza from Roundtable. I'm fairly certain the sauce gave me a minor case of food poisoning.

There was a time where I ate like 80$ worth of crab from Joes Crab Shack and it was so fucking good and then I puked it all up on my way home, but I dont think it was food poisoning, I think I just ate way too much crab and butter and garlic and alcohol too quickly.

I also remember being so upset at the money I was wasting. I spent so much money just to puke it all up an hour later.

food really is such a waste of money

Generally speaking, if you're sick right after eating from a restaurant, it probably wasn't the restaurant that made you sick. Most foodborne infections incubate for 3-4 days before symptoms start up. Even the absolute fastest foodborne illnesses (toxin-based ones, where a pathogen has left toxins in the food) take several hours to kick in, so blaming your most recent meal is often an incorrect assumption.

Subway gives me the squirts real bad every time, I think it's the low grade meat quality. No problems with chick fil a, or Taco bell for that matter.

Go to a different Chick-fil-a or at different times of day, maybe there's a filthy mofo that is getting you ill or perhaps they don't clean properly at that particular restaurant.

I got the norovirus once. Nasty illness. Stuff was shooting out both ends, at the same time. Not fun.

I still have no idea where I got it from, but the last thing I ate before getting sick was apple fritters from Sam's Club. I know that wasn't what made me sick (norovirus doesn't affect you that quickly), but to this day my stomach still does flip-flops whenever I see the stuff.

I had an incident a long time ago when a friend took me to meet up with her mother who worked for one of cereal companies headquartered in Minneapolis. For lunch we ate at the local DQ, where I ordered onion rings, which I loved at the time. Thirty minutes later I was so sick that I had to go home. For years afterwards I wouldn't touch onion rings; nor would I go to DQ for hot food.
