From October 2018 - August 2020, I've ate fried chicken 88 times. Averaged out, means I ate fried chicken every 7.6 days. Thank god I no longer live near a Popeyes.

Don't do drugs kids.

I used to live on a farm in South with a big family. We'd have a small breakfast that the lady of the house made, usually biscuits and gravy, bacon, eggs, fruit, etc. and pack a light lunch of fresh bread and cheese for while we worked the fields. After working the fields all day we'd come back to a communal feast of Southern comfort food that the women of the house prepared. One of my favorites was the Grandma's fried chicken. I ate like this every day for over six years and I'm built like an ox.

It's a popular breakfast dish in the U.S., particularly in the South and Midwest. I grew up believing I was allergic to eggs, so biscuits and gravy became one of my go-to breakfast choices at diners and such. But he best I've ever had was still on that farm. There's a place I tried in Chicago that came close though.

I need to try this. Biscuits and gravy mean something different to me.

Edit: Maybe the biscuits are just scones.

The biscuits are not dense like scones.

The gravy is a creamy sausage gravy with pepper

Fuck I'm certainly in need to visit your place of work. Sadly restrictions and money restrictions won't allow it.

American biscuits are similar to scones, but in NA terminology, scones tend to be sweeter and denser. Similar methods and ingredients, though (flour cut/rubbed into butter as the basis of the dough). In particular, I believe biscuits in the American south tend to be made with softer flours (low gluten content/strength, often sold as cake/pastry flour), whereas scones (as well as biscuits anywhere else) are more typically made with AP flour for a firmer texture.

In 2004, when I lifted heavy, I worked near a Popeyes.

Every work day Id get:

1 POBOY Sandwich
2pc chicken with French fries and 2 biscuits(1 eaten with grape jelly, the other strawberry jelly)
1 large drink of Hi-C

Southern American Biscuits are often made with lard or Crisco as the fat also.

Ever had a biscuit from KFC? That's what we are talking about here, though that is a poor fast food example.

A proper American biscuit is nothing like those dry, brick-like scones sold at Starbucks.

Yet a proper English scone is nothing like American Starbucks. Unless you've been to England and had a scone you can wind your neck in. Hell I don't even think fast food places sell scones over here.

I'm not saying the KFC biscuit isn't bad. It was just the first example I could think of. It is to the American biscuit as Starbucks is to scones.
