They are terrible movies (which is a shame because theyre the best books in the series...) the 5th movie isnt so bad though. in fact even movies 1-4 arent even that good. A lot of books, Harry Potter included, are very episodic with each chapter being its own mini narrative. Making them into movies is often a poor fit. The issue is that the Harry Potter books are often overflowing with details that are very paper thin. Rowling is a notoriously poor world builder. deoxxys 01/30/21 1:46:00 AM #38:	Harry Potter book nerd here, read it several times. 1-4 are amazing 5 was good 6-7 were good in their own regards but fail to stand up other then its "endgame" premise, JK Rowling's writing is strongest when her formula primarily keeps to the school class schedule along with the relationships they make and new things Harry learns. Best when there is mystery and intrigue.
