It's just that the vanilla horses for purchase are TERRIBLE. 1,000 gold a pop, die if caught in a light breeze, and have a maniacal temperament that far exceeds their abilities. Shadowmere or Arvak are decent enough though. The former is hard to kill, and respawns from the dead should it die. My sister was at my computer just outside my room and around the corner. She suddenly yells my name and wakes me up. I get up and she couldn't find her way out of the tiny courtyard at the beginning of Morrowind. Its just 2 doors and a barrel with a magic ring in it. You are supposed to walk in from one door, pick up the ring then exit in the other door. She somehow kept getting turned around and going back to the way she came from.
