The Beyonder

The only problem there is that you have to dress like this:

Or like this:

Kylun

Shit, son, that's a deep cut.

Or did some writer dig him out of the trash and reuse him again recently? Because that would be less impressive.

Nah, it's a niggling gripe I've had since the mid 90s actually.

Sinister has his unhealthy obsession with Scott and Jean for some reason, but he doesn't understand for one second how volatile the Phoenix Force is in his attempt to create "the perfect mutant". He keeps trying to fuck with Omegas and writer's darlings.

If you just took D-tier mutants like Gideon, Kylun, and Sunspot and threw them in a blender, you'd be way closer than you ever got with a-listers. Sure, throw in Morph, Jamie Braddock, or any of the weapon X crew if you really want to get freaky, but pre-"Genosha heaven has a revolving door" bullshit you'd have gotten to the "ultimate mutant" before Nimrod went online.

Don't even have to go that far - Sinister's been tinkering with DNA for more than a hundred years, and he's had the DNA of all the Marauders and about two dozen other powerful mutants besides tucked away in his lab already. Along with DNA from Apocalypse, which is how he became Sinister in the first place.

Mutants like Vertigo, Harpoon, Prism, and Malice could combine into a ridiculously nasty package as-is.

Though Marvel's gotten terrible with that sort of background storytelling since Claremont left, and even worse over the last decade or so, so the backstory is pretty rife with bad ideas by this point. Like how they fucked over the entire The Twelve storyline a while back.

Fair, but if we're being honest, my X-Men canon is locked around 1998 or so, so I agree with your Essex assessment as a vilian, but hold to my blender idea as well.

Sinister was too hung up on SR gatcha pulls to realize what he had in the high tier cards.

I'm pretty confident if you had a shape shifter that can mimic any sound, powerset, or psionic echo, they could be made of rice paper as long as one of the adamantium bros didn't sniff them at point blank and you'd still end up with a better chryptorchid than you'd ever get out of the Summer's bloodline.

Essex has a pathological obsession with leadership and total random with Nat 20 rolls than an actual swiss army knife powerset.

I'd put my blender omnimutant up against anything he does unless he gets Legion trapped in a pocket dimension as a battery.

So what you're saying is, he should have been trying to get Calvin Rankin and Rogue to fuck instead of Jean and Scott.

I mean, if we're being honest, Jean's storyline always comes down to "I was raped by the Phoenix Force" either before or after she has one of 3 crotch fruits on literally every numbered multiverse she exists in so...

Calvin Rankin is low-rent Angel, and Rogue is just Gambit's Lolita until Carol sticks her nose where it doesn't belong so like...not really.

He automatically replicates the knowledge and skills of everyone near him, effectively making him a savant in any field he cares to master, so long as he can find someone to copy from. And he's copied powers from people who are about on-par with Superman in strength. His only real weakness is that he can't retain those powers - and a large part of his original story arc was trying to find a way to do so.

He's a hell of a lot more than Angel ever was, even with the Apocalypse Archangel upgrade. He's basically Peter and Sylar from Heroes.

Not really the point, though. Her power has been shown to be strong enough to absorb literal gods (she's drained both Thor and Mephisto), and most of her lack of control over it stems from the fact that she's still young (and because Status Quo is God in comics). If she could learn to control it better and avoid the psyche domination issues, she'd be one of the most powerful mutants on Earth.

If you really want to know how potentially powerful she is, in the mid-80s I once played a Marvel RPG where one player made a character who was pretty much broken-down Professor X in a wheelchair but who had an even stronger version of Rogue's power. By the end of that game the character was an outright god and creating entire new worlds just to show off. He basically just pulled a Sylar and went around sucking down progressively more and more powerful characters to enhance himself, until he was capable of punching out Galactus (and then he ate him too).

Sinister's a geneticist. If he's going to be tinkering with DNA it would be theoretically possible to replicate those powers or even improve on them, solving the drawbacks and creating a mutant which is effectively capable of stealing every power ever and keeping them forever.

And in a world where you have mutants who can literally rewrite reality...
