I forgot how much I liked the first one, and I thought I was down on the whole open world thing due to sheer exhaustion, but man, it was awesome and I never once felt like it was a chore to get all the stuff. Partly because none of the collectables were particularly annoying (maybe a couple of the sound-based ones got a little annoying).

I'd take more open world games like this tbh. It was shorter, the map never got dauntingly overpopulated with guff, world is reasonably-sized, and I didn't feel like any of my time was being wasted playing it. Mostly because I really love the combat. That said, I liked the lengthier story of the first game too. I guess I'd like a game with a long and good main narrative, but MM's amount of side stuff. I guess it's a bit like the AC2/AC:Brotherhood relationship in that regard. I liked both of those games a lot, almost equally - Brotherhood has so much going for it even though it's shorter.

Two huge thumbs up! Can't wait to see what they do with the next one.

I hope we get both Pete and Miles playable in the next one.

And with the symbiote on the way, I hope Pete gets it and starts getting more aggressive as per the usual symbiote stories, leading to a boss fight as Miles against Pete in the black suit. Basically make Pete into Miles' Vergil for a bit.

I was thinking exactly this. It seems like such a slam dunk. Have Miles be the check on Pete's symbiote thing.

Wonder if it'll go for the GTAV instant-switch between characters deal. That would be awesome.

I actually ended up getting kind of bored with it halfway through, which is shocking to me since I absolutely adored the original game. I think the plot just didn't pull me in enough or just that it doesn't feel like there's as much interesting stuff going on?

I don't know, nothing kept me hooked and after I got Immortals Fenyx Rising I haven't looked back.

I'm a couple of hours in, it's good. I don't love the combat so I'm already kind of tired of fights but pretty much everything else is great. It looks gorgeous on the PS5.

I enjoyed it, but it definitely has that DLC made into a new game feeling, kinda like Dead Rising 2: Off The Record or Infamous First Light.

Wish it had more boss fights and that they didnt lean quite so hard on Miles electricity powers. It got ridiculous by the end that almost every single problem encountered could be solved by either absorbing or discharging electricity.

I personally enjoyed it more than the first game. This is my favorite version of Miles for sure, his abilities made combat a lot more enjoyable for me, I never got used to switching between gadgets as Pete and pretty much stuck to web shooters at all times. The venom attacks feel more natural.

All the new animations while swinging around and the tricks are phenomenal.

Like I said, I'm kinda done with open world games that try to overwhelm the player with "content". 2018 SM did that a little. To me this was great. But that's just me I suppose
