Jinping is a dictator. Dictators often abuse human rights and routinely target journalists, which Jinping often does. How is that a cultural thing? He's acting like this to consolidate and protect his own power, not because it's in his culture to do so.

If it was someone else saying this they would have already been warned for offensive speech. You only get off scott free because you're a mod.

The Chinese shouldn't have to abandon their culture because their country is currently run by a fascist regime but that's besides the point and off-topic.

The fact of the matter is the Chinese government is trying to control the flow of information coming out of the country itself by jailing members of the press.

China's been real dodgy about the origin of Covid-19. It's not just the Chinese press that want answers.
