I had hoped it would at least be half as good as new vegas in term of choice/quests/ world dynamics, but no.

Aside from few fallout fan games, we will never get a game like new vegas anymore. Original creator of fallout cannot even do it with the outer worlds.

Cyberpunk is fun and i am enjoying it, but so far it plays more like far cry than fallout or even witcher, but with few dialogue choices that barely matter.

Well at the very least i was expecting bigger version if Eidos deus ex, but yeah the world are too big and too impersonal for being deus ex where there are stuff in every nook and cranny.

Damn russians taking too long translating fallout sonora to english.

Fallout resurrection and nevada was great. They are kinda wonky when it comes to dialogue and writing since they are transalted by volunteers, but gameplay wise, like in term of RPG mechanics and choices are almost as good as the other fallout games.(obsidian/black isle)

It's also popular to compare CP2077 to GTA5 and RDR2... That one I don't get.

I'm playing New Vegas for the first time right now and I can see why it has such a following. Best RPG of all time? Nah... But it's an open world western/sci-fi RPG done to perfection. It still holds up 10 years later.

Outer Worlds didn't really scratch my New Vegas itch as much as I'd have liked, either. Guess there's little point searching for alternatives when the original is waiting with open arms. =|

I'm finding myself in a bit of a rut when it comes to RPGs. I generally shy away from Western RPGs because they lack focus. I still play them, and appreciate them for what they bring to the table. I like my RPGs with a bit more of a focused narrative, though.

I'm so glad I didn't buy into the hype on this game. It was seriously that very last trailer that turned me off. Feels like I dodged a bullet.

It ran every bit as bad as Cyberpunk on console on PS3. Memory leaks eventually drove the game to slideshow mode

I expected more choice & consequence in Cyberpunk - not as much as in New Vegas, which is probably the benchmark as far as open world RPGs go, but something between that and what we got. Obviously I didn't expect it to be like NV more generally.

The Lifepaths in particular didn't amount to much. I didn't expect the impossible like 3 full playthroughs, as some think was wanted by those who are disappointed, just a longer intro (2-3 hours per Lifepath), a handful of unique main quests later on, and some more ending differences. Given how Lifepaths were advertized, I don't think that was unreasonable. The Witcher 2 had the Roche/Iorveth choice, which changed virtually the whole middle third of the game, although admittedly it wasn't an open world game.

I'm still very much enjoying the game, but it could have been a whole lot more.

Pretty much (with limitations of course). Initially they teased 8-10 classes, then that eventually became the 3 Lifepaths we have now, plus Skyrim-style perks, and cyberware options.

yes, but my theory is that when witcher 3 came out in 2015 and was a huge hit, cdpr decided to pivot development into an action game with rpg elements rather than a hardcore crpg. rumor has it that even tho cyerpunk was announced in 2012, development didnt start until 2016, so i think there is a chance there was a scrapped version
